The only light that flooded the small student room was the multicoloured light produced by his dantesque confrontation with a Primordial.
Agathe was in the middle of an epic battle with several other members of her guild against a gargantuan monster threatening the peace of the universe.
To avoid disturbing her girlfriend who was trying to sleep peacefully on the bed next to her, she had been forced to cut off her microphone resulting in a few small communication problems, themselves resulting in a multitude of unsuccessful attempts to bring down this boss and in a rather angry Agathe.
“Damn it! she whispered. What the hell are you healers doing?
— Come to sleep... sighed Héloïse, turning to her beautiful.
— I can't, we have to take down this boss tonight. The instance resets tomorrow, and we won't be able to get the loots...
— I don't care... Come to sleep, I have to get up early tomorrow...
— I don't. So, sleep, I'll be there in an hour.”
Héloïse sighed and tried in vain to go back to sleep while Agathe resumed her fight, which did not end until the early morning appeared and Héloïse woke up.
***
It was only in the evening, when she returned, that Héloïse found her friend, freshly woken up, trying again to take down the same Primordial as the day before.
“You could have waited for me, though... It was bad enough that I couldn't drop it last time... she complained.
— Connect yourself, we are missing a healer today, Agathe replied without lifting her eyes from her screen.
— Right... she began before realizing the opportunity she was given. Wait, wait a second... You can't take down this Primordial without one more healer, can you?
— Yes... Agathe replied cautiously, feeling the problems coming.
— So, if I help you, I want something in return...
— I remind you that you will have equipment if we get some... tried her friend.
— No, that's not what I want...
— So, what, what?
— You'll see... Héloïse replied with a mischievous smile. Come on, move over a little, so I can sit...”
She grabbed his laptop and sat right next to his girlfriend and a few minutes later, the small room was invaded with various order and screams.
“Say, don't you want to heal us a little? Agathe cursed.
— I will do it as soon as I can! For the moment, the tanks' lives do not stop yo-yoing, so avoid the red circles and survive! replied Héloïse.
— Of course!”
A few minutes later, after much effort and a fierce battle, the Primordial finally fell under their blows.
“Wow! That was great! exclaimed Agathe.
— Yes! He almost had us on the last try, Héloïse added as she stretched herself.
— Yes, fortunately the tanks were able to handle it.
— And so would I, if I hadn't healed them continuously, they would have been killed.
— Yeah, yeah...
— Now I want my reward... Héloïse whispered as she turns to her friend.
— Damn... I thought you forgot...
— Forget such a thing? What do you think I am?
— Besides, we didn't even get a good drop... Agathe grumbled as she looked away.
— I did... she added, hammering the nail in while kissing Agathe.
— I feel like I've been completely fooled... sighs this last one. So, what do you want as a reward, Devil?
— Me, a devil? That's mean... Héloïse grumbled with a little pout.
— Stop being ingenious and express your wish, fiend of the devil...
— Next weekend, I want us to go camping in the mountains for the two days! exclaimed Héloïse joyfully.
— Wait to be sure I understand you well... Agathe began. You want us to go camping in FF**V, don't you?
— I... stammered her friend who was expecting everything but this.
— That's right, isn't it? Agathe asked again, still full of hope.
— No. Of course not. Sweetie, I love you but sometimes you despair me... she sighed.
— I... stammered Agathe before realizing and adding, proud of her:
— Only sometimes, great...
— Don't be proud of it, you idiot! exclaimed Héloïse, unleashing a little flick on her forehead.
— But... I was sure I despaired of you all the time... grumbled Agathe while holding her forehead.
— Of course not... From time to time, this is not the case... Héloïse sighed as she surrounded her with her arms. This is quite rare, though...
— If it's not going on a trip to the beautiful landscapes of FF**V, then what did you mean by that?
— I wanted to talk about a real excursion to the mountains.
— When you say a real excursion, you mean out of this room?
— I... Yes, Agathe, out of this room.
— For two days and a night?
-- Yes...
— No, Agathe refused, plain and simple.
— Oh, please... prayed Héloïse.
— How do you plan to get there? I don't have a licence, and we can't ride your moped together... Agathe asked, sure she had found a way out.
— By train.
— And how do you plan to pay for the tickets?
— I just got my pay check at the restaurant.
— Damn it... And it will be just the two of us? asked Agathe whose cheeks turn a little pink.
— Oh, you, I know what you're thinking... Héloïse will whisper.
— Answer me, instead of teasing me...
— No, I know very well that you would never accept it if that were the case... I've already invited Juliette and Ambre.
— Oh, it's been a long time since I've seen them... Agathe exclaimed. Since the senior year of high school...
— Yes, I suspected that... Well, they're both in town.
— And what are they up to? Still stuffed together?
— You can just ask them next weekend.
— You're trying to lure me now, aren't you?
— And it works?
— Yes... Agathe admitted, reluctantly.
— Awesome!”
Agathe buried her head in her friend's hair, embarrassed.
“How do you plan to do for food? she asked.
— We'll bring a cooler full of sandwiches for Saturday, and we'll have a barbecue on Sunday.
— You know it's going to cost us a lot of money for nothing...
— Good memories together, not price, she replied.
— You really have the answer to everything... Agathe sighed, burying her head even deeper into Héloïse's hair.
— As always! And I knew you'd never surrender if I didn't plan everything!
— You're getting to know me too well... I who was convinced that I was an enigma...
— A enigma, yeah, sure...” laughed Héloïse as she stroked her head.
They remained in each other's arms for several minutes before a small beep from Agathe's computer.
“Damn it! I'm going to be disconnected for inactivity! she exclaimed, moving away and grabbing the machine.
— Why does this game always have priority over me... Héloïse sulked.
— He doesn't always have priority... Only, most of the time... Agathe replied.
— I swear to you...
— The others of the guild, propose us to try another Primordial again, do you want to? asked Agathe, with stars in her eyes.
— Do you agree to go away next weekend? checked Héloïse.
— Yes... she accepted.
— Then it's okay! Let's go show what the Warriors of Light are made of!”
