And now to run, this smoke won't keep them knocked out for long, Draena hops off the stairs, throwing down two more, larger sleep grenades in front of her. The mask pulled tight around her face, He did well with these masks. Bit harder to breath but they keep out the gas so we can do what we need to do. Now, where would I keep stolen weapons if I were Galora?
Draena moves out in the hall hearing her companions move behind her, "Let me get the little one" Alinor's muffled voice carried over to her.
"If you must, I'm not waiting for her ta wake up. If we don't get out o' here quick, we be dead," she doesn't wait as she moves past the first intersection and the steps of her companions dim, fools... she shakes her head pressing her back against the wall as she peers around the corner to see two guards hustling down another hallway towards the grand hall.
The hallways are long and dimly lit, to her advantage. Years in the Raven's Fold, a thieves guild back home have gained her a few extra skills for jobs like this. Lycian is hiding something from us, she seems distant when she talks and perhaps a bit manipulative. We won't know if we don't get the weapons though. Without the weapons we can't figure out who they really belong to. She pauses at another intersection, light piano music coming from down the hall, Guards stationed there, must be important, but I can't take them out on my own. Search elsewhere and come back later.
The flames wink out suddenly down the hall at the beginning of a set of stairs. Draena padded up to the stairs peering down into the darkness, a soft light at the bottom, but no sound. She slinked down the stairs carefully listening for someone to be there. The stairs opened up into a large cavern like room, what might be considered an underground amphitheatre with the way the floor releafed into lower tiers down to a set of intricately carved iron and stone doors. Only a few inches of wall were above the nearly two story tall doors.
Draena's eyes peer into the darkness pulling down a set of goggles over her eyes to help her see in the dim light. A few levers were to the right of the doors and she picked her way carefully down the layers of flooring to get a better look at them. One of these opens the doors perhaps. They appear to be mechanical in design, her thoughts ran through what could be on the other side as she reached out to grip and pull down the first lever.
THUNK!
The lever clicked into place loudly, and Draena jumped away from the sound looking frantically to the stairs, straining her ears for sounds of someone approaching. The sound of the door covered any possibility of hearing someone coming though. Chains slipping over gears pulling the door open on a weight system that was controlled by the levers. She stepped inside the room beyond the doors and was greeted with two more doors, one to the left, and one to the right. Both were smaller than the main doors, Claw marks... she noticed on the left door, Something was dragged in there.
Looking out at the levers one did seem more recently used than the other outer levers I don't want to meet the beast that left claw marks in stone I can fit my arm in. Though, it might be guarding Galora's hoard of stolen or collected objects... She reached to the lever to the right and pulled it down...
Again chains could be heard running over gears as the door on the right slowly opened up Junk? She looked in at the pile of stone and metal, That looks like it used to be a sword. Perhaps... she moved closer to the pile carefully. Head swiveling back and forth listening as she approached the pile, Blacksword, Crystal Axe, and a Separating Blade of some kind, she looked over her shoulder towards the open doors.
drip ... drip ...
Draena's gaze slowly lowered to the sound, blood!? her eyes going wide before another tendril punctured through her chest, shit.. she tried to turn, to scream, anything to get away.
no...
too much to do still...
I can't ....
I can't die here... the town ... my home...
please ... no...
Darkness falls upon her, a loud scratching sound the last she hears.
