Journey: The Delta Version

Chapter Nineteen: The Resolution

Chapter Nineteen: The Resolution

Aug 05, 2019

Dennis stopped in his tracks. He tried to walk forward but some invisible thing was stopping him.

“What’s going on?” he said. He pushed heavily against the barrier, but it barely budged. He then tried to walk around it, but the barrier stopped him again.

“WHY CAN’T I LEAVE!” he shouted.

Everyone turned to look at Dennis.

"Harpies," he muttered, in frustration.

He tried to run at full speed against the force, but nothing happened as the gang encircled him.

Pointing at Kyran, Dennis yelled, "WHAT KIND OF SORCERY HAVE YOU DONE HERE?"

A familiar voice answered, "Oh, he's doing nothing. But I'm not."

Dennis fell to the ground, and Maize materialized with one foot on his back.

"Maize for the win!" she cried in triumph.

The room burst into shouts and cheers, which echoed throughout the castle.

"What are we going to do with him?" asked Riordan.

Johnathan said, "I can teleport him somewhere."

Johnathan grabbed Dennis by the shoulder and he, Maize and Dennis were taken away in a flash of blue light.

"So, what now?" Daniel asked.

Hello, statue girl over here! Jacquie thought.

"I guess we should reassemble the zodiac," Erik said.

The remaining members of the gang (excluding Kyran) began to reassemble the zodiac when Kirna spotted Jacquie in the distance.

"Hey, Jacquie!" She waved Jacquie to come over. When Jacquie didn't follow them, Kirna said, "Hey something's wrong. Jacquie isn't moving."

Kyran and the others walked to Jacquie. Kyran tilted his head and said, "Dennis must have put a spell on her. I can fix this. Probably." Kyran shouted, "Shouza!"

The blood in Jacquie's body rushed through her, filling her body with warmth. She then collapsed on the floor.

"Jacquie?!" Daniel cried, rushing to her side. Turning to Kyran, he said, "What did you do to her?"

Kyran explained, "Dennis used a spell that puts one's muscles into paralysis. I reversed it, but suddenly having access to your muscles again can cause some side effects, like collapsing. Are you okay, though?"

Jacquie nodded as rose to her feet. Her body was filled with pins and needles, but the pain had mostly subsided. "I guess we should get back to the zodiac..."

Everyone nodded, except for Kyran, who looked a bit apprehensive to the idea. He spoke up. "I don't want to do this."

Johnathan and Maize had come back at this point and Maize asked, "Why?"

"I've... kinda been alone for a really long time, just traveling the planet and meeting a few people I could get along with. But when I'm with you guys, I feel like you are actually my friends. Friends I can depend on, and trust, and..." he trailed off.

"I really don't want to be alone again."

"You can come back with us," Jacquie said.

"Just because I can come back doesn't mean that we all won't be together. You all know too much about me. Why would you want to hang around with me?"

"Well," Robin started, "you have saved our lives multiple times while we've been here. Even though you brought us here in the first place," she mumbled.

Riordan joined in. "Yeah, and all of the places we've gone to were… really… exciting to say the least."

"I've seen more of the universe than I ever thought I would," Johnathan mentioned.

"And you've shown yourself to be smart, motivated, and charismatic," Jacquie said. "Who wouldn't want to be around someone like that?"

"Really?" Kyran said, looking into Jacquie's eyes.

"Really," Jacquie said. "We will still hang out with you, no matter what."

Kyran was grinning. "You're right," Kyran said. Of course, what was I thinking? I was just afraid of something stupid.

“Now come on," he said with determination, "we have a planet to save."

Dennis is stopped, Kyran reveals more emotional baggage, and the zodiac will finally be assembled.

OKAY, GUYS I FINALLY FINISHED THIS CHAPTER. It's been in progress for a long time, because I procrastinated writing it. There is one chapter and an epilogue left. After that, this version will be done and I will work on the new version (which will be called the omega version if no one objects), as best I can now that SCHOOL is a factor in my timing.
The epilogue's already written, so it shouldn't be too long.
But, hey, last time I said that, it took me three months so BLORP.

A magical boy from another dimension needs the help of the chosen ones, so he takes them on a journey to save his home planet.

I want suggestions on how to make this a better series. I will post what I have to you and if I feel like I've made enough revisions, I will make an official series here. I have been developing this for several inexperienced years, so don't expect anything too good. Well, what are you waiting for? READ IT NOW!
