Unlike the other times when I was in pain, I did not pass out. The pain was so unbearable that it forced me to stay awake. Once I was in the inmary, they gave me a potion that made me sleep for the rest of the day. Zakuro and Sakura were in the room waiting for me to awaken, both of them looked grim. Zakuro was the first to speak, "Mika this is serious, you almost burned to death in the sun. If Maria and Shin hadn't been with you and brought you here when they did." She looked away, she was trying to find the next words for what she had to say. Zakuro is the most brunt person you will ever meet, she says what's on her mind and doesn't care who hears. But with her friends she says them in a nicer way, unless your to stubborn or pigheaded to listen to her. "Look I'm not going to tell you what to do. So, I'll just say this. You know you're different from other witches and vampires, hick you're the only one of your kind. Some of the normal rules and knowledge that we have of vampires and witches won't apply to you. But from what we've seen, your witch blood is going to be enchanting your vampire blood. Where other half-vamps are weak against the sun, it will most likely burn you within a inch of your life. Where full vamps are weak, you'll be strong against. That includes some things that effect half-vamps only a little. Basically where full vamps are weak you're strong, but where half-vamps are effected half your effected almost twice as much."

Zakuro left the room without looking back, Sakura walked over to me. "What she's trying to say is that if you don't learn your limits one day it could get you killed. The only reason you're still alive is because of the blood we gave you." She started to walk away; I stopped her by grabbing her hand. "Who's blood was it?" I asked. She wouldn't look at me when she answered. "Kenij's". Kenji has given me his blood which meant that we are now bonded. The first time a young vampire taste blood fresh from a person they are bonded as familiar and master. Because the first time my vampire side awaken was caused by my need to survive, the blood I tasted never counted. Now I remember just before they gave me that potion, Kenij held out his wrist to me. I didn't want to bit him or drink any blood for that matter, but if I didn't I could've died. Since Kenij and I already had a strong bond as friends breaking this new bond will be almost impossible. The stronger the bond or relationship between a vampire and the person who is their familiar before that bond was made the stronger this new one is.

This bond is the worst thing that could happen to me aside from being kidnapped. Now I see what he was doing, Kenji knew I wouldn't take a familiar on my own so he made me take one. This is something I have to accept, a vampire is just half of who I am. The other half is a witch, but I am also human. Looks like enrolling here wasn't a complete waste of time.
