“They do what?!” Eric asked in disgust. “They really are messed up. Why don’t you just leave if you have it so bad here.”
“It’s not much of a choice. I don’t have anywhere else to go, and even if I did, do you think they would allow me to leave?” Eric shook his head. “I didn’t think so.” Ash said.
“I never really noticed how bad you had it here.” Eric said rubbing the back of his neck. “I mean, I saw the bruises, but I thought you were just naturally clumsy. I thought you did the stuff you did by choice up until how I saw Marcus treat you.”
“BY CHOICE?!” He screeched in disgust. “YOU THINK I WANT TO LIVE LIKE THIS?! NO. I’d book it out of here the minute I could if you asked me.” Ash said calming down. “Look. I’m tired. I’m going to try to get some sleep. I suggest you leave unless you want to come across as a creep who watches people sleep.”
“Of course.” Eric said gathering up his things. “See you tomorrow.” He said walking out the door.
“Yeah, if I’m still alive by then.” Ash mumbled as he lay down on his side and pulled the thin blanket over him.
