I sit in the shower

The falling water mixing with the tears

I cry and cower in fear

For the noises I hear

The angry voices out there

When I’m around they act

They pretend they are in love 

But when I’m gone it’s push and shove 

They have anything but love

For each other but

They try to last another day

To try to protect their daughters feelings 

Little do they know I’m way past healing

I look up at the ceiling 

And wonder if it would be better

If I just wrote them one last letter

Maybe then They can just leave

Go their separate ways 

Without having to worry

Without being sorry

About what would happen to their poor daughter

Don’t have to try to lead the horse to water

They wouldn’t have to sacrifice their happiness 

For someone who doesn’t deserve it

In the first place 

When they look at each other 

I see the look of hatred

On their faces

I’d rather sacrifice my life for their happiness 

Then them sacrifice their happiness for my life

So this is it 

I write a good bye letter

Telling them I’m doing this for the better 

They might not see it now but

They will see in time 

Just try not to cry

Mom and dad please dry your eyes
