A bit of the backstory.
Marv is from France, he was born at the zoo in Paris. I was a volunteer at the zoo while I was on my leap year. Soon after, when Marv got sick, I cared for him directly and we developed a bond. I used to sleep next to Marv in the infirmary to make sure I could attend to Marv in case he needed anything during the night. No one could really explain this friendship that developed so fast.
After my leap year, I would spend time with Marv every week. Marv would get anxious if I would be late for any reason but I never missed a day.
When zoos were dismantled due to the cruelty of keeping animals caged and away from their natural habitats, most animals were already too used to human interaction and wouldn’t be able to be rewilded. Marv was one of them.
When I heard Marv was about to leave the zoo, I immediately applied for the adoption. With our history being fairly popular at the zoo, it wasn’t much trouble to get that adoption approved.
