“Why is so dark?” I tried to open my eyes and noticed it was quite difficult. I began to hear a baby's cry and wondered what was going on. My eyes finally started to re adjusted and I noticed I was inside a crib. A large woman stood over me wearing a maid’s outfit. It reminded me of an anime actually.
“Oh, did the prince have a bad dream?” the women asked as she picked me up slowly.
“Prince? I think you are mistaken. I am a woman, or I was. The women picked me up and I felt her start to slowly swung back and forth. I looked over her shoulder to see I was in a giant room. The room had a red carpet with a dark blue wall. A large cabinet towered against one of the walls next to a large mirror one could stand in front of. To my one side, I noticed a large window that almost touched the ceiling that had to be about 30 feet above me with curtains that were tied open. On my other side was large double doors. I looked down to see the crib I was as just picked up from. I looked at the women who was now sitting down in a small rocking chair next to the crib, “It’s okay. Prince’s do not cry. You must maintain a strong presence in any environment because one day you will be King of this nation.”
“King? You think I can run a county? I couldn’t even run a relationship correctly! Everyone that I thought was close to me, slept with my boyfriend.” I thought as she gave me a bottle. “I need to figure out what is going on. I am now a baby boy and only a few hours ago I was a woman in her late twenties.” I lifted my arms up and attempted to grab the bottle that I fed on. I noticed my arms were weak and I could barely fit my hands around even half the bottle.
“Prince, already trying to eat on his own after just being born. You will become strong in no time.” She smiled and gave me a warm feeling inside.
“Are you my Mother?” I wondered. I wanted to ask her but instead of asking that question, I made random noises. I made a small fist from frustration as she put the bottle back in my mouth.
“How is he?” I noticed a large man com into the room. He had a large scar over his right eye and a smooth face. He had light blonde hair that seemed to be combed over to one side and was wearing tight fitting armor on his chest, arms, and legs.
“He is eating well and seems to be already trying to do things for himself, my King.”
He walked over towards us and she stood up. She handed me to him, and I felt a large chill go up my spin as he placed me against his cold armor.
“Be careful my King. A new born can be very delicate.”
“My blood flows through him. Soon he will be a powerful man, who will one day rule all.” He tilted his head a little, “His eyes, why are they two different colors?”
“My King, I do not know. He seems to still be healthy.”
The King frowned and handed me back to the women, “Cover his green eye. This family only has blue.” He turned and walked out of the room while two guards shut it behind him.
The women smiled as she bounced me up and down, “The King means well. I will make you an eye patch though and you will have to wear it from now on if you want to continue to live here.” She warned as she set me back in the crib.
I looked up at her, “You are going to blind one of my eyes just because they are different? Can we please vote on this? I am just a baby right now. I am still getting use to not being able to speak and move. I am also getting used to being a boy now. This all seems to be so over whelming.” I thought as I held back tears. It was even harder than I thought to not cry. I hated people seeing me cry even as an adult. Being a baby, I still felt the same.
The women walked out of the room finally and I was left alone in a large room. I looked down at my feet and kicked them back and forth, “For just being born, I have a lot of control still.”
