Chapter 2

Arianne is getting ready to go out. She approaches the carriage and passes her finger over its ornaments under the intimidated gaze of the doorman.

"Um...... Clean it up more carefully next time," says Arianne.

"Yes, miss!" Answers a servant

Arianne enters the carriage with a slight discomfort.

Arianne's thoughts:

“Since the accident that caused my death, the carriages have made me anxious...”

Right after my accident, I woke up in my bed with a start. I was in my old room, at my parents' house. My housekeeper Marie-Louise was asleep at my bedside. I looked around and noticed that not only was I not in my current room, but also that the vase I had broken several years ago was intact!

Everything in front of me seemed to be in much better condition than the last time I saw them... Including my housekeeper, who no longer had any white hair on her head. Then I asked for a newspaper to be brought to me. It didn't take me any longer to understand what had happened to me.

The next day, I decided to write down everything I knew about the future just in case (even if I was still thinking that everything was just a dream).

I wrote down everything: from the most innocuous events, to the inventions that will mark society, to the worst secrets of the nobility.

But to verify the veracity of my memories, I have to talk to my colleagues. And what better way to do that than to go to the tea party given by the De Neuilly family!

Arianne was sitting on a chair on the terrace of the De Neuilly house. With her, were seated Alice Forestier (Count's daughter), Maria Du Vin, Nicole De La Carte, Lily De La Mare and Charlotte De Neuilly. The gossip was mostly about Alice's wedding.

"I need to find a way to direct the conversation to a subject that matters to me. I have a few points to check..." Arianne asks herself.

"...the dress I wore at that party came from the Star House, it was the most beautiful of all!" said Charlotte.

"Speaking of beautiful dresses... Have you already decided which one you will wear at the Church's feast?" Arianne interrupted

"Oh, of course! Of course! As, I am very organized, I had planned a dress for several months already!" said Charlotte.

"Really? And do you know if the party will be over..." Arianne replies before being interrupted.

"Orion!!! Orion!" calls out to Charlotte

A man turns around in the distance. Charlotte calls him with great gestures. The latter is heading towards the group.

"Good afternoon, ladies." he said.

The young women look at him expressing fascination and embarrassment towards him.

"Meet my cousin Orion Asbourg! Son of Duke Asbourg!" She adds

Orion smiled and said to them:

"I am delighted to meet such beautiful ladies."

These young girls blush with embarrassment (except Charlotte and Arianne).

Arianne is like tense. She turns around (Orion is on her back) to see his face.

"Orion?!!!!!!!!" gasps Arianne
