Greer woke up a few hours later, debating going for a workout somewhere. When she looked at the stack of papers, she found most of the more dangerous listings had been removed or crossed out, and one new addition to the stack, circled with red highlighter- the cheap single bedroom two floors above them. Many of the other listings also had notes scribbled on them about the pros and cons of those places.
Greer sighed. "Woulda been fine in that part of town." She looked at them a bit, including the cheap one and started muttering to herself, "There is no way that's going to be that cheap. Still will take a while to save up..."
As she finished getting up, she looked to see what the wedding ceremony looked like now. Somehow the entire thing gotten even more elaborate, with what appeared to be a banquet with small chocolates on a table. He had even cut a small knife out of some kitchen foil.
Greer smirked and went to get a glass of water before she did a run. "Wonder how long before Luce makes Dewi put it in his room. He’s gotta be tired of it by now."
She had just started taking a sip when a voice from behind suddenly spoke up. "Good luck finding room in his room for it."
She nearly spat out the water as she turned and looked. "Swear you are all gay ninjas! How did you even do that?"
Blake gave a little grin. "Well, compared to Dewi, everyone's super quiet so I can see the confusion."
"Well that's because he is a bi secret agent. That doesn't count. His job is to make you swoon." She smiled a bit. "Just going off for a run, unless you want to come with."
Blake waved his hand a bit. "Nah, I don't do well with running outdoors. If you want to join me in the gym, though, I have a talisman and was planning to use the pool to relax."
Greer’s eyes lit up at the idea of a gym, but the excitement faded a bit. "I have no swimsuit... I'm pretty sure your boyfriend would complain if you saw me nude again."
He shrugged. "Even if you can't go swimming, it does have other sections...” Blake paused his talking for a moment while gesturing like he was waiting for her to provide an answer she should know. “...like a jogging track?"
Greer paused, the last two times she got hit on by girls or accused of trying to steal a purse. She was used to it but it would be nice to just run and have no one bother her. "Ok, deal. Jogging track. Ooo maybe I can run barefoot. It’s been a while since I enjoyed that."
Blake tilted his head a bit. "Of course you can run barefoot. What barbarian makes people wear shoes when running indoors?"
"Public gyms sometimes because other people's germs."
Blake half smiled as he got out a piece of paper. "Like I said, barbarians, the lot of them. Now is there anything you need in the closet before I get this thing open?"
She thought for a moment. "Mmmm my towel, but it’s in my bag. I’ll get it out later.”
"Okay, so this is really easy to use." He went through the motions as he explained. "Just stick this piece of paper to any door, we're going to use the hallway closet, and then that door will lead to whatever place it's set for. This talisman is the gym dimension Sato made, but there's a bunch of different ones around, so make sure you have the right one. Last thing you want is to mistakenly walk into Dewi's extended closet or some other weird dimension Sato has created." Once Blake opens the door, a large gym entrance can be seen through it.
Greer looked worried as she watched the door open. "Wait what weird dimensions? Should I be worried? And.... oooooooooooo....." She was caught off guard by the gym. It looked like ones professionals used to practice for the olympic training. She had dreamed of getting to even see a gym like this one day, and here it was just open to her. She silently prayed to God, thanking him for this chance as she walked inside. Greer looked around before finding the jogging track. It was a good length, and the ground had the perfect texture. The only thing that would be better would be the smell of nature just like the forest back home. Greer stretched a bit before letting out a big grin. She started running full force since she didn't have to worry about anyone freaking out.
Blake chuckled and headed to the pool's changing room where his swimsuit was stored. He was no longer needed as a guide for Greer for the time being and the pool was calling his name. It was nice to see her relaxing a bit, particularly after the text that Dewi sent.
For Greer, each step was like lifting a weight off her shoulders. She felt lighter and happier each moment that past. Before she knew it, she finished her run, dead tired. "...Dammit.... shoulda.... saved energy... for weights..."
Suddenly, seemingly from nowhere, Dewi's voice rang out through the whole dimension. "Paging whoever is using the gym. Luce is making dinner so it'll be ready in ten to fifteen minutes. Finish up what you're doing and come to the table for food."
Greer looked around, trying to find the source. "Tell Luce I'm dead. Or I stink and will destroy his dinner from smell alone." She walked over near the pool. It was tempting to jump in, but she didn’t have anything she could wear into the pool. Instead she sat at the edge and gently splashed him a bit. "Come on Blake."
Blake was just floating on his back, eyes closed, ignoring the world. She wondered if he even heard Dewi. "Don't wanna. The ocean's calling me." He mutters, as if half asleep. Without warning, he snapped out of it, sinking slightly into the pool before returning to the surface. "I mean, I'll be right out. Just need to shower off and get dressed."
Greer nodded. "Can I get out without you? ‘Cause if not I'll get cleaned up too."
"As long as no one pulls off the talisman, the entrance is like a normal door. Unless you need help finding your way to it, you can go ahead of me if you want."
Greer nodded and headed out. She saw Luce and Sato, quickly waving to them as she headed to the restroom, grabbing her towel. "Hey guys I need to hit the shower and my gel is in the bathroom. Blake is showering there."
Luce nodded. “Be quick, dinner is almost ready, okay Greer?” He seemed a bit less stiff than he had the last few days. Greer wondered if he just had a nice afternoon with Sato or something. She gave a quick nod and went to get cleaned up before dinner.
