“The Cheshire …” Lay Mis tells her after a brief pause.

Both sides of the video are now completely silent. After a few seconds, Odem bursts out laughing in the background. He is watching a security feed of dozens of officials in his organization running through the Almagest, competing with each other to deliver an important document to him.

“Seren, you didn’t tell me they did all this!” he says out loud, laughing hysterically.

“Odem …” Seren says calmly, without turning around. “Surii is alive.”

“WHAT!” Odem exclaims. Lay Mis lowers her head and Ridge, one of the four members of PHADSYN currently present, simply shakes his. “Well, where’s Burt?”

“Surii took him!” she explodes, reaching a boiling point. “This is why I told you to send me!”

“Well, I didn’t know he was alive!” he snaps back.

“You never listen to me!” She turns back to the team. “Where’s Serota?” she beams to Curl, Lay Mis, Ridge and Deck––referring to the fifth member of PHADSYN, who’s currently missing.

“Well, how did I know they were going to be ambushed?” Odem continues to project to her from the background. Seren temporarily ignores him as she waits for one of them to answer her.

“He went after the Tyrant,” Curl eventually responds.

“He did what? That wasn’t the mission!” Seren yells, her frustration reaching a fever pitch while her brother continues to bicker at her from the background. In addition to absolving himself of any fault for the failed mission, he continues to drone on about how much he loves his team, and will love to aid them in their time of need, but unfortunately, he’s a little busy right now.

“He’s got this!” Lay Mis suddenly fires back at Seren in Serota’s defense. She quickly notices herself informally emoting and immediately calms down. “He has this new weapon in his arsenal. I’ve never seen anything like it. One capable of destroying the Tyrant once and for all.”

“You idiots. You think some gadget is going to kill the Tyrant? Serota will be lucky if he even lands a hit on him. And you know that … but you let him go anyway,” Seren affronts, thoroughly scolding Lay Mis and the rest of the tactical espionage team for their incompetence. “You failed to capture the Obelisk. You let the Cheshire get between you and your mission, and your director went after the Tyrant. You wanna do something right for once––since you all can’t seem to handle one simple operation? Then you better hurry and get to your director’s side … before his arrogance gets himself killed.”

Before the video feed is disconnected, Seren and Odem go back and forth for a bit, and are cut off mid-sibling-fight.
