Lucille has been gone for four months. I’ve been going back to my life before I met Lucille. Going to work all day. Not doing anything really.
I went to the place where I saved Lucille. But this time I went to see my mom. I walked through the forest. Almost replaying that day but we still have snow on the ground. Instead of a fresh spring breeze, it was a crisp almost spring breeze.
I got to the cemetery. And found my mom’s grave. I started talking to her. I knew I would never get an answer though. I missed my mom so much. I was told great stories about her and I only had my dad and he took the love of my life. I turned my head to the left and saw a gravestone with a name on it that seemed very familiar. Once I looked at the name closer my heart sank.
The name was Lucille V. Jones. I broke down. I prayed this wasn’t real but once I took in the facts I thought it was her next to my mom.
I left the cemetery. I was walking back to my apartment and to my surprise, I ran into Quinn.
“Hey, what are you doing here Ash,” Quinn asked me bubbly and happy.
“I was visiting my mom,” I told him.
“Where does she live,” Quinn asked looking around.
“She died when I was pretty young,” I told him.
“Oh, I’m sorry for your loss.” He replied with sympathy.
We had a few seconds of awkward silence.
“You must be here to see your sister,” I told him with a mumble in my voice.
“My sister?” He asked confused.
“Yeah, Lucille she is buried next to my mom,” I told him.
I thought he would have known.
“Lucille?……..oh…...Oh….OH…” He said smiling.
Then he started laughing.
“What's so funny. Lucille is dead.” I told him shocked.
“That's not my sister. That’s Lucille’s birth-mother. She died when Lucille was born and Lucille’s dad named her after her mom to keep her memory alive.” He told me.
I felt really stupid. Then I knew one thing though. Lucille is still out there.
“You ok Ash?” Quinn asked waving his hand in front of my face.
I realized I was staring off.
I nodded and replied, “I got to go. See ya, Quinn.”
I started running off in the direction of my apartment. I got to the door and saw Nikoletta standing there. The last person I want to see.
“ASHER! I’m so glad you’re here. What if I told you I can get Lucille back?”
