Bad Acting

Bad Acting

Sep 08, 2019

From Chocolate to Pandan, Archer tasted every flavour available. He liked Strawberry the most of course. He was on his second helping of the desert. The only ice cream Clyde paid attention to was the Coffee flavoured one. Other than that, his mouth was stuffed with Coffee Jelly pudding.

Some of the customers looked in awe at the number of sweets the two ate. The students were particularly amazed at Clyde's eating habits. As he did with the salad before, he combined the pudding and the ice cream together-- creating a pile of indistinguishable goo. Archer no longer commented, he was too busy enjoying his sweets.

"Is it just me or is that actually disgusting?" John asked. They stood across the room, near the door. They watched them from the sidelines.

" It's never just you. It is disgusting. How can teacher date someone like him?" Lea asked back. " I thought Clyde would be too good for him, but his stock just plummeted. Teacher's too good for him now." She added.

" That's what love is, you get used to it." A familiar voice spoke in between them.

" Oh, Hi, Teacher Stella." Lea greeted without a hint of emotions. She hated her class. It was always read this and quiz that. There wasn't any fun.

John raised his hand, "It's my turn to go on a break!" He got out of the room, escaping the possible stupidity that is about to ensue.

" For crying out loud, what are you doing here, Stella?" Archer asked, pissed off. He abruptly set his spoon on the cup.

" How's my favourite couple doing? " She smiled as she approached their table.

" Fine, until you came along." He answered.

Stella grabbed a seat and sat next to them. " So, I've been waiting for Pixtagram posts. Where are they? My thumb is itching to like something from my favourite couple."

" Can you stop saying that? We're private people." Archer answered again. Clyde ignored them as he ate his slop. Their voices easily became white noise and everything else that didn't matter became blurry. He was in his own little world.

"Not Clyde, he posts every single week," Stella revealed. She showed them his Pixtagram page on her phone. His page did not have any pictures of him. It was always pictures of what he saw and found interesting. The latest one was a photo of a goose in a pond.

Clyde snapped back into the conversation when he heard his name. He looked at her phone. " When have you been following me?" He asked, confused. "Definitely creepy."

" Speaking of following, Why aren't you two following each other?" She devilishly smiled.

"As you've said, I haven't used my account in a while. There's really no point in following him if I don't even use it." Archer answered. He did not even know Clyde had one before today. It never occurred to him to search up his name on Pixtagram. He was quite content with the photo saved on his phone.

"Suspicious, very suspicious. If I knew my boyfriend never followed me and never liked any of my posts, I'd be angry."

"You know what, I am angry. Why can't you put in a little more effort? is liking the goose pic too much to ask?" Clyde acted pissed off at Archer. He hoped this little act will force Stella to finish this conversation.

"He's right," Stella interjected. She wanted to stir this conversation even further. She loves two things only, Archer and drama. That's it. If this is the only way she can get one or the other, so be it.

"This is too shallow," Archer spoke.

"So I'm shallow? or is it because you're hiding something from me in your account?" Clyde asked. He did not expect Archer to reply like that, he thought he'd agree just so this insufferable conversation ends.

"Me? Do I look like someone who can hide something from you?" He genuinely has no idea why Clyde was even pushing this topic this far. Why he's starting a whole fight for it.

"He hid himself from me, that counts for something," Stella added.

"Can you stop?" Archer asked Stella. "Look, I'll do whatever you want me to do." He told Clyde.

Clyde rolled his eyes and turned his back away from Archer."You're only doing it because I told you to."

"Not at all, It's just that I'd do anything that makes you happy." He answered without a second thought.

Clyde sighed in relief. Archer finally caught on and followed his lead. "Me too."

Archer covered his face with his hand, he couldn't stop his grin. Why would this idiot say "Me too"?

"Ew, teacher, that's cheesy." Lea overheard when she was cleaning up the table next to them.

"Do you want me to take back that star?" He snarled. Thankfully, Lea's interruption wiped the stupid grin off of his face.

"...and they were roommates."
Clyde and Archer both feel and acknowledge the imaginative line separating them. They were fine with living together. No unwanted drama or silly laughter, just snide remarks and petty fights. It was the perfect living situation.
However, Archer's lie and Clyde's obsession with coffee jelly causes the line to blur.
