It was a gorgeous, deep dark night, when Soki and I were walking down the sidewalk. As we walked hand in hand, we stared at all the illuminated shops that attracted our attention.
"I love this time of night. It's so gorgeous!" Soki exclaimed happily.
I nodded.
"Totally," I said back. "We should do this more-"
I was interrupted by a man coming out of a restaurant, a small, Alaskan Malamute looking puppy dangling by his fingers. The poor puppy looked sad, and it seemed almost completely starved.
"GET OUT AND STAY OUT, DUMB MUTT! the man hollered. With those words, he promptly threw the puppy across the street, where he landed with hard THUMP. Me and Soki stared at each other in disbelief. We quickly scurried across the street to help the puppy. Sure enough, it looked horrible, and, because of that man throwing it when it's bones were super brittle, it'd broken a leg.
"Aw, poor guy," I picked him up and nuzzled him. He whimpered against my chest as I rubbed his neck.
"I know that you might not like this idea," Soki said, petting the pup. "But, could we maybe rehabilitate this pup and keep it? It doesn't have a collar, it's been out here for a while, and it'll die if nobody takes it!"
I stare at Soki, then at the sad, hungry floof ball in my arms.
"We'll help him, and then we can keep him," I said, holding the pup closer. "What should we name him?"
"Huh.. I think we should name him Ren!" (Bonus points if you know what anime Ren is from. Ren is also a puppy in the anime I'm talking about)
Blah blah blah.. We adopted Ren, and, long story short, he's our pampered lil prince, and we love him a ton<3
