A few hours ago...…

I frowned after looking at the screen again, while Zane, a light tanned boy lilac hair and hematite eyes put the pile of dresses back in the cupboard,

"Don't worry Bro! Being late is in fashion!"

I made a face at his remark which earned me reprimandation from Pearl, a girl of whitish skin, light blonde hair with emerald eyes, "Stop frowning will ya! we are on our way", she said while pulling the door of limo along with Neo in the group video call.

I sighed and gave an apologetic look to my two other friends, Danial and Diana sitting beside me. Diana a biscuit colored girl with soft hazel eyes usually contrasting her stoic personality, and auburn hair said as a matter of fact, "They always end up being late". We had all agreed to meet at my place in order to leave for the ball together, well except a few of us just have a habit of being Fasionably late.

I made a face that meant, "What's taking Zane soooo long? It's been hours!" Zane somehow interpreted my expressions, "No! It haven't been hours. Danial correct me if I am wrong", he protested, still arranging different garments and accessories, while Rosangel, a frantic looking girl with bouncing shoulder length hair in the color of cotton candy, sapphire eyes, her face rosy red, glistening with sweat as if she had ran a marathon, tried to brush his hair. Danial a copper hair boy with scarlet eyes replied, "Actually, it's been 47 minutes and 23 seconds." I stared daggers at him to which he just merely shrugged.

I turned towards the screen again, "Why are you still not ready? and what's with room?" I asked while pointing at the whole mess of dresses, jewelries, shoes etc spread over all the place, " weren't you only supposed to be picking Rosangel from her parent's house?"

"I know, I know...." Zane started to explain, still hands full of clothes, "I just didn't like the color of her dress, so I just asked her to change into another but none of them looked good enough for her, so I asked her to change into the one I brought for her, not that I wanted to see her in it or anything..." I smirked looking at her dress and realized she was indeed wearing the gift he gave on her birthday and they were matching. "Of course, I believe you," he sighed with relief, "it's just a complete coincidence that you are wearing a couples dress, just a HUGE COINCIDECE". He swallowed , embarrassed of being seen through his plans but still tried to feign ignorance, "Yeah, just a coincidence..." I grinned at the boy who tried to hold onto his last shreds of dignity.

"Stop teasing the boy already". Neo came over with Pearl in tow and joined our conversation. He asked while looking at the screen, "What's with your hair?" 

Rosangel was still trying her best to set Zane's hair to his liking. "Oh, you know...", no we don't, "the moment I entered here to my sweet girl up," Zane animatedly began to explain while pointing at beet red Rosangel," I laid my eyes on the mirror and saw two strands of hair sticking out of place and the moment I tried to set it, the most horrendous thing happened," he paused dramatically, "my whole hair style got messed up, so I asked my cute angel to set it, as I was a hopeless case and depressed, so she....." he went on and on till he reached us, according to Danial was 25 minutes and 36 seconds at last in addition to the previously delayed time and finally joined us to go to the Masquerade ball of our last year as students.

 After getting seated, Rosangel meekly asked while adjusting her gown, "Are we going to meet Adora and Callista in the ball?" The still noisy group went completely silent. Flushing with embarrassment poor Rosangel tried to hide behind Zane. 

I sighed dejectedly, "Yes,.... we will."
