"Who dares enter my territory?" the Hybrid said in a pure, stern voice. "You shall pay with your life". 

Ah, a hybrid like me, huh?

Mother, still shaking, just sits there petrified. If she wasn't squeezing me so tightly, I would have thought she turned to stone. The wolf came only an inch away from her face and she started to lose her grip on me.

This is obviously a wall I have to get over. I wasn't able to avoid abandonment before but if this hybrid eats mother whole, she will eat me along with her. From what I can tell, this creature is a female. Her lady-like tone made it somewhat easy to tell. I can't move my body, so I cant try to protect my mother; I can't say anything so I can't persuade her to leave us alone. So what can I do?

The hybrid stopped sniffing her and step back as if she was planning something. Just when I think she was just going to walk away, the wolf started saying something under her breath, a took form. I have to think fast!

Just what can BABIES do? I could only think of one thing. It may be a risk but theirs still a chance it could work.

I started a scared mumbling, my mom turned over to me and looked at me as if i didn't shut up I would die. My mumbles turned into cries, and my mother desperately rocked me, but it seemed the hybrid still couldn't hear. The hybrid finished her spell and right before she cast it, with a smile on her face, my cries turned into screams of dissatisfaction (one that babies would use if they hadn't been fed nor given attention in quite a while). The hybrid stopped in her tracks, right as she was about to use her magic and practically ran towards us, eyes glowing in excitement.

"A baby? Show it!" she barked at mother, she showed me as I was still crying.

 As soon as I was close enough to her face, i stopped crying and started to smile. I must admit it was hard, moving my facial muscles so early, but it was necessary for my survival. The best part is, my hand touched and laid on her snout at the perfect time. I could see tears swell up in the hybrids eyes, after a few seconds she calmed down. Her tone softened as she said:

"Apologies. I personally don't take mothers away from their offspring, prey or not. How did you end up in such a dangerous place with a child of that size" The hybrid asked worried and shocked.

My mother hesitated for a moment, then realized she doesn't really have a choice. She told her everything about me, my race, my father, and our short adventure. Inuyo listened to it all, absorbing every word until mother was done.

"I see. What an unfortunate baby. I truly feel this baby's life will not get any better. My name is Inuyo, come with me to my homeland. He may not be my species but we will treat him as one. Being with me is the only way he can truly be at home, leave him by my side to grow." Inuyo stated in a serious and soft tone. " Do not worry, your child is safe with one of the strongest races. You can travel with us to my den so you can know where to pick him up, but never tell anyone where my kin stay. That will be the end of you and your child"

Mother looked at me, then at Inuyo, and nodded.

"Achievement unlocked 'Tamer of the Ultimate Beast'. New powers attained: Magma and Ice magic. Quest Board Addition: 'Blend in with the Strong'. The reward for completing: +10 all stats."
