Approaching an empty faced alleyway I stopped to hear my steps echo down the long alley. The tall building walls shaded the area leading down the path. I felt a cool breeze hit my face and footsteps followed.
"You are here.", a soft voice spoke.
Violet's eyes met mine as I looked to see her bundled up in a red scarf and looked down to see her buckled black heeled boots. A cool breeze came through again, I started to feel as if someone was watching us. My guard was up as we approached the alley.
"So where is this place anyway?", I asked stepping into the darkness.
She answered quickly, "It`s not too far."
She seemed a little on edge and avoiding my question. We walked a few more steps until I felt the eyes in the darkness multiply. We approached to be a beat down building in which no one was around, not even a rat or a single rodent.
She grabbed my hand, "Let`s go okay?", she pushed.
Her pace picked up as i heard footsteps follow us. I tried to loosen the grip she held by attempting to slip my hand away. She kept her grip and led me around the corner to an elevator looking contraption, she quickly unlocked the door and shoved me inside her following me in.
The competition ended as she spoke, "Sorry about that. You wouldn't want to get involved with those people."
Her head was turned away from me, "What do you-"
"Anyways we are almost there!", she interrupted.
I never really liked when she acted like this, it wasn't her. The two doors opened to the entrance of a long quiet hallway. I stepped out with Violet leading the way once more, nothing was said until we reached to palace throne room like doors.
She stopped and took a deep breath, "Okay!"
The doors creaked open to a lightly dimmed room and a man sitting in a baroque velvet throne. Violet's expression became more serious and composed. She led me to a seat in front of the man's.
"So you are the one I've heard so much about?", Kion spoke with a mischievous look on his face.
I raised an eyebrow, "I believe so?", my gaze shifted to Violet beside Kion.
"I want you to join us.", Kion's voice became more straightforward.
"Join you?", I asked shifting in my seat.
"You should know what I`m talking about by now hm? I`m sure Violet has explained everything and was good bait.", he snickered.
"Kion!", I heard her shush him.
Before another word was said a tall muscular man entered the room with a smirk across his lips.
"Well look who`s here!", the man spoke shutting the door with his foot as he leaned against it.
"Adonis!", Violet's face lit up.
She ran to hug him, but before she could he lifted her up. "So that`s him huh?", Adonis asked as he set her down and glanced over at me.
Kion looked to be distracted glancing out the window rubbing his chin. I sat playing with the loose strings of the chair fabric. Kion didn`t seem to acknowledge Adonis but he didn't seem to mind.
"Hey I`m Adonis by the way.", he smiled as I stood.
"Welcome to The Black Cross!"
"Now, if you'll stop bombarding him, I'll show him to a room he can use. " Violet concluded and began to lead me away.
"Why are you giving me a room?" I asked as we went down the labyrinth of hallways.
" Well it's past midnight. And you shouldn't be driving in the dark, anyways. " She answered and opened a door to a room. "Here, you can use this room."
" Thank you. " I replied.
She smiled, "I'll come get you in the morning." She began to walk out, "Now get some rest."
I sighed as I heard the door latch heavily. Yeah , right. I thought to myself.
