Bacon and eggs, a breakfast for a special occasion. That's what is in front of him. But Teru doesn't care, his mind is on the dream he has been having over and over. "Your bacon's getting cold dear" Teru broke from his dreamlike state and looked at his mom, and dug in. Teru's mom; a healthy forty year old cheerful looking woman. She has always been caring towards Teru and his sister, especially when they're ill. But today seems different, she looks... worried. Teru's mom caught him staring at her and gave him a big smile. He quickly looked away, he doesn't like looking people in the eyes. He found his sister looking at him, with the same worried look as earlier this morning. His sister, one year younger than himself, is looking cute as always. For her age doing she still looks young and vunerable, she got that from their mom. She also has this cliche dark long hair flowing around her shoulders, she's always been the bright star of the family. And then her lips, what are they doing? Teru looked up at his sister with confusion and lifted his shoulders. He watched as her sister let out a small sigh and began scribbling something on a paper note. She clicked her pen back in and gave him the note when their parents weren't looking. It read:
After breakfast, my room, alone.
He looked up from the note and nodded. His sister nodded back.
After finishing his breakfast a few minutes later than his sister he got up and went upstairs, to his sister's room. Standing infront of the door he was getting a flashback of his dream and saw all the guts and blood again. The guilt came back and he shrunk, he felt a hard pain in his chest. His breathing sped up and he began losing conciousness. All of the sudden it all stopped, the breathing was back to normal and his chest was feeling fine. He shook it off and knocked on his sisters door. "Miyu? Can I come in?" He could hear all sorts of things dropping and feet pounding on the floor. He smiled, he knew Miyu was making everything nice and clean again. "Yes! Come in!" He opened the door, and saw Miyu sitting on her bed and gesturing to sit beside her; he did. Just as he wanted to ask why he needed to come she asked: "Mom, she's looking different this morning right?" Teru was quite surprised about this question because he thought she was going to ask him about his dream. "Don't say you didn't noticed" Miyu said angrily. "N-no I did, it's just I didn't... Never mind." Teru let out a sigh. "She looks worried doesn't she?" Miyu nodded, stood up and started to walk around the room. "I wonder why, I really do" Miyu said with slight sadness in her tone. Teru stood up, walked to her and kissed her on the forehead. "Don't overthink it, it's probably nothing" She glanced up and smiled. "Now pack your stuff, school's starting." He left the room and closed the door.
As he got downstairs he saw that his parents were standing at the frontdoor. "What's going on?" He looked at both his parents with confusion, but his look got stuck on his mom. Is she...? Is she crying? Then he looked at his dad, whom was smiling bright. "Oh dear... it's just... it'll be explained later today" His mom sobbed, and left the door to be guarded by his dad. She couldn't keep her crying in anymore and had to be alone for a while. "Son, you won't be attending school today. You're going to get a physical exam." Teru looked over his shoulder and saw Miyu turning stiff, her eyes turning gloomy; she knows about what's happening, or rather, what's going to happen. "No dad you can't! not HIM!" She yelled at his father. His father just kept smiling. This frustrated Teru a lot and he snapped. "Dad! Get that fucking grin off your face and tell me what the hell is going on!" "Remember where I work Teru?" Teru had been to his dad's workplace a couple of times, he works at a spaceprogram industry. The usual thing he hears from his dad's work is that it's all going fine and that the workpace has accelerated. "Ofcourse I do, what about it?" "It's time you hear the truth, about my job. I do work for spaceprograms, but not like the ones you see on TV. I work for the government party, we're busy with a new space army program. You see, the earth has always been under supervision from other planets. And we've got an secret army over at D.C. To fight those... 'things'. But recently we've been busy with a new project, a Special Space Operation team. And ofcourse we need people for that job, and we were going through the US data system and first and best result came up pretty quickly, it was you! Teru, you're going to be an S.S.O! Isn't that an honor? Teru? Are you okay son?" Teru has gotten too many information at once and this is getting to him, he's turning pale. He looks around at his family, whom are turning hazy, and lost his balance. He could hear a hard thump but couldn't feel the pain as he fainted. He saw Miyu taking him in her arms and telling him it's going to be fine before everything turned black.
