The next day, the day went by as usual. In the morning, Yuki had to attend the class, while in the afternoon, she had to do her job as the guardian. "Somehow, it felt quite lonely doing it all alone." She muttered in her mind as she looked around and found no one beside her to help her with the guardian job. She had asked about Zero's condition from the last incident that had happened. The headmaster had told her that he was alright and only need some rest. But, she could not even find him in his room. Then, there was Scarlet, whom she did not even know where after she ran away from the ball. She had thought that she would ask Luna about it since she might know something, but...
Her train of thoughts was disturbed as the girls from the day class were shouting again, as usual, signing that the gate was about to be opened soon. "Alright, alright! Don't push! Make way!" She said as the gate was opened, but then got pushed anyway by the crowds. She was about to fall if someone did not catch her. "Ah!" She said before she quickly moved away as she spoke, "I'm sorry Kaname-sen-" Then as she looked up from bowing down, she realized she got a wrong person. "Zero!" She called out surprised.
"What're you doing? Do your job properly." He simply commented. "Ah sorry." Yuki apologized as she looked at Zero. "Zero." She called as he walked towards the students to discipline them but then stopped to turn to look at Yuki. "Welcome back!" Yuki said with a big smile on her face. It took Zero a while before he replied with a simple, "Yeah." Then he saw Kaname who was standing behind the gate still and just looked away as Kaname approached Yuki.
"Good work as always, Yuki." He said as he was passing Yuki. "Ah, th-thank you, Kaname-senpai." Yuki answered shyly. Then she remembered something. "Wa-wait, Kaname-senpai. Is Luna absent again today...?" She asked as she looked around but did not find the vampire she mentioned. Kaname then turned to look at her again. "Yes. She is not coming to class again today, nor she is in the dorm." He informed her, knowing well where the question would be going to. "I-I see... Thank you." Yuki simply said bowing slightly.
"Don't worry." He began. Yuki looked up at him again, confused about where he's going. "Scarlet will be alright. At least I know Luna would take good care of her." He assured her with a smile on his face before he continued his way to the class with the other night class students who were waiting for him. "A-alright, thank you again, Kaname-senpai!" Yuki shouted as she watched him leave.
Meanwhile, at the same time on another place, deep down in the middle of an unknown forest, there stood a big, yet, dark mansion. There were no lamps or any other lights surrounding the said mansion, even the path to the mansion was dark. Perhaps it was made that way so nobody would notice there was such a big mansion in the middle of the forest, or perhaps, it was because the residents of the said mansion were creatures that preferred to live in the darkness.
The right answer was the latter, as the only residents living there was none other than a vampire student who owned a black hair that reached her shoulder and a pair of red eyes along with her servants. The said vampire was now standing in front of the guest she had brought herself, and the said guest was tied onto the chair. "Do you really have to tie me up?" Asked the reddish black-haired guest. "Of course. In just one day I kept you here, you have attempted to escape for 12 times already." The vampire said as she crossed her arms in front of her chest.
"Well, I would not try to do it if you at least tell me where is this place?" The guest asked with her stoic face. "Too bad, I can't do that, Scarlet~" The vampire simply answered with her cheery tone as usual. Scarlet just sighed, giving up. "Alright, at least just untie me. I promise I won't try to run away again." She then said to the vampire. "Really?" She asked making sure. "Yes." Scarlet simply answered with a nod of her head. "OK then~" And with just that, the vampire untied her.
"That's pretty easy. Does she trust me that much?" Scarlet muttered in her mind as her hand was released already. She rubbed it as she asked, "By the way, why don't you go to class, Luna?" The vampire called Luna turned her head to her and answered with her cheerful tone, "Of course I can't leave you here alone~ Who knows what might happen when I was away~?" She truthfully said. "Oh, so she doesn't really trust me that much after all." Scarlet thought up again immediately.
"But, then I won't know what is going on there now." Scarlet confessed. She surely was very curious about what happened right after she left after seeing the incident. "I wonder if everyone's alright..." She added in a low voice. "Well, if it's just that, I can tell you." Luna replied innocently. "Eh?" Scarlet asked in confusion. "What do you mean?"
"It means as it means~" Luna simply chirped. "How?" Scarlet asked again. "Well, I'll tell you while we're having dinner. You should take a bath first, while the dinner is being prepared. Or do you want to take one with me~?" She said then her tone turned into a hyper one again at the question. "No, thank you!" Scarlet quickly replied as she made her way to the bathroom inside her bedroom which was prepared specially for her.
Inside the bathroom, Scarlet sighed as she removed her clothes. The tub had been filled with the hot water, so she only needed to rinse her body before soaking into the hot tub. She then sighed again as she enjoyed the hot water around her body. It sure helped her relax and removed her tiredness. The place she was being kept was not too bad, actually, it was glamorous, if only it was not too dark for her to see. She wondered how the people living there could even stay in such a place. But then again, they were vampires, so it was not really a surprise.
Her mind then drifted off to the incident she saw at the academy, and she was feeling down. She looked at her hands and clenched it as she felt really weak and pathetic. Her eyebrows were furrowed together as she closed her eyes, trying to remember what had happened as she thought she was feeling something else back then, something that would force her inner strength, or so something she thought, out to her. But, before she could even do it, she was disturbed by her hostess.
"Scarlet, I've prepared the clothes for you on your bed. The dinner has been prepared too, so come to the dining room immediately once you're done." Luna said from outside the bathroom. "Got it." Scarlet simply replied, and once she heard Luna had gone out of her room, she unclenched her fist as she sighed, getting out of the tub, and finished her bath. After that, she got out of her room to get dressed, but, what was prepared totally made her speechless, but she had no other choice, so she just put it on, and headed to the dining room as told.
"My~ you look really lovely, Scarlet~" Luna praised as soon as she saw Scarlet coming. Scarlet was dressed in another set of goth-loli style dress. The color was black with some red accents to it. The dress was sleeveless, but there were some separates sleeved that matched the mini dress that reached up to her upper thighs. On her legs were a pair of long black boots that reached her lower thighs. Scarlet growled lowly. "I would prefer if you just give me some casual clothes instead."
"Oh, but these clothes suit you so well~ You should wear it more~" Luna said as she saw Scarlet walking up to her seat. "I will never wear it again." Scarlet stated out loud with a serious tone. "Well, well~ you'll be since you'll be staying with me for a while~" Luna chirped innocently and gleefully. Scarlet grunted. "So, then, tell me..." She quickly began as the foods were prepared in front of her. "How would you know what's happening at the academy now?" She asked looking at Luna who was listening to her.
"It is easy. I had kept a servant around~" Luna answered nonchalantly. "A servant? I never see you with one." Scarlet admitted, after all, Luna had been clinging to her, so she had never see anyone else being around her. "Why, of course. Their identity is hidden, so they just blended in right with the other students~" Luna answered proudly. "They're one of the students?" Scarlet asked again disbelieved. "Mhm~" Luna nodded before she took her utensils.
"Who are they?" Scarlet asked carefully. "That I cannot tell either~" Luna easily answered as she began to cut her meat. "You should begin eating too, Scarlet~ It's better while it's piping hot~" She added as she ate a piece of meat she had cut. Scarlet just sighed but did as she told as she was hungry herself. "Mmm~ rare meats are really delicious~" Luna sang her enjoyment of the meat she just ate. "Rare?" Scarlet asked as she was just about to cut her meat. "Oh, don't worry~ Yours is cooked perfectly~ A perfect medium rare~" Luna immediately told her to reassure her.
"Okay....?" Scarlet was unsure of how to answer that, so she just cut the meat and began eating too. Then, in the middle of their dinner, she asked again. "Then, Luna, can you tell me what's happening now at the academy?" Luna who was about to put another piece of meat to her mouth had stopped midway. "Oh sure~" She said as she put down her utensils. She then began explaining what had happened in the afternoon until the current time.
"...and now, they were facing the men, uhm... Vampires, the senate had sent to take Zero away with them." Luna explained before she finally ate her meat. "What?!" Scarlet put down her utensils suddenly. "Why would the senate sent them to take Zero, and what about Yuki?" She asked again panic. "Don't worry~ Kaname had come and taken on Zero's side. So, both Zero and Yuki are alright. They're still at the academy, doing perfectly fine." Luna answered calmly as she just chewed on her meat. Scarlet sighed in relief. "Kaname...senpai, huh?" She muttered in a low voice. "Ah, then Yuki told Kaname that Zero was not the one who killed Hiou Shizuka, and Kaname had told her that he would think so too if Yuki says so." Luna continued, and that had made Scarlet stopped eating.
"So, the reason the senate send their pe- vampires to take Zero was that they thought Zero had killed Hiou Shizuka?" Scarlet asked making sure. Luna nodded. "And then, Kaname-senpai..." She did not continue as she had mixed feelings. She knew that Kaname was the one who killed the woman pureblood, she had heard the reason he did it too. But still, she thought that making Zero the scapegoat was not a good idea. But then again, it would be bad if the other vampires knew that the one who killed Hiou Shizuka was another pureblood.
"Scarlet?" Luna called as she saw Scarlet had not touched her food anymore. However, Scarlet was still deep in her thought. "If only I could stop it all... But then what? What would have happened if I had stopped it before it all happened?" Her minds kept on running through the possibilities that could happen if only she was able to stop it. But, no matter how long and how deep her thoughts were running, she could not find any answers that would satisfy her. "No! That's not good enough. If it's like that then... If only... If only I was strong enough!" Scarlet gritted her teeth as her fist was clenched onto the knife she was holding, without her realizing it.
"Scarlet..." Luna called again, as she saw how hard her grip was. She was getting worried. "Scarlet, are you alright?" She tried again, but still no answer. "Right! If only I was stronger! I need some power! If only... If only I was a... Vampire...?" Her mind suddenly stopped abruptly as her hand started bleeding from the tight grip on the knife. Luna who smelt and saw it quickly stood up from her chair abruptly, surprising Scarlet and breaking her train of thoughts. Scarlet turned her head up to look at Luna confusedly. "Ah, Luna... What's wrong?" She asked.
"Scarlet..." Luna began. "Your hand..." She simply said in a low voice, but audible enough for Scarlet to hear. So she quickly turned to look at her own hand and was surprised to find it bleeding. She quickly let go of the knife, and then she saw the maids, who were serving them, were now looking at her with their red eyes glowed in the dark. Scarlet quickly got up from her seat too. "Come here!" Luna quickly grabbed her and pulled her to her room.
She quickly locked the door and the windows. "L-Luna...?" Scarlet was holding her bleeding hand as she watched Luna carefully, who was slowly approaching her. Scarlet kept on stepping back until she hit the bed and fell onto it. Luna had gotten up to the bed and hovered on top of Scarlet. "Wa-wait, Luna..." Scarlet tried to stop her but with her moving her hands to push her away was a bad idea, as the smell of blood had made her more vicious.
Luna grabbed her bleeding hand and licked it slowly. "Hnmm!" Scarlet jolted in surprise. "Wa-wait, Lu-" before she could finish it, she had felt a pair of cold fangs bore into her wrist.
