Counselor

Counselor

Author's Note: I was going through my old google docs when I found an old short story I made in middle school. It's not exactly girl love. It's more of a mortal enemy kind of thing. But I figured that was close enough. I haven't really edited this much from when I wrote it in middle school. So it might be a bit off from how I usually write. 😄

I was sitting across the desk of the guidance counselor. My legs were crossed at the thigh. I was sitting in that chair like I actually wanted to be there; one hundred percent arrogant.

This is not what I planned for the last day of Freshman year. I would rather be watching the clock tick down to the last second of school. But, I never got along with the counselor during the year; so she wanted to get the last word in. She looked pointedly at my outfit and wasn't happy about the black leather jacket, black ripped jeans, and a black tank top with a rib-cage on it. It would be miserable in the heat, but it was worth it for the look of disgust on her face. And I love the face she made when she saw the snakebite piercing on my bottom lip. She decided to ignore my outfit for now.

She leaned forward in her chair, propping her elbows on her desk. She smelled like irritation and cheap perfume.

“So, Adrianna, how was your year?” I don't think she was asking because she wanted to know. We were both trying to get the last jab in. I decided to play the game.

I smirked, “My year actually went better than I thought it would.”

“Did you do any clubs or sports?” she seemed genuinely interested this time. “I did track. I'm not very good at it.”

She looked at my outfit again, “I can see why.” I ignored that. Even though irritating her sounded amazing. She can still hand out detentions. Getting in trouble now wouldn't help me any. “Are your grades good?” Going off my outfit, I'm certain she expected me to tell her I failed all of them.

I smirked like any teenager does, “All passing.” She spun around in her rolly chair and pulled my grades up on the computer. After a few clicks she pulled up my grades of mostly A's and B's. She seemed a little disappointed.

“That's good, you need good grades if you want to get anywhere in life.” She muttered under her breath, “and good style.”

I decided not to let that one slip by, “Yes. I wouldn't want to dress like an old lady.” I looked pointedly at her outfit. She glared at me, but ignored the comment.

“Are you nervous about the new year?” She forced the question out through her teeth.

I kept the smirk on my face, “No, it will be like any other year, with a new set of teachers.”

She seemed really happy about what she was about to say next...

“About that, they might move me into a teaching position in the tenth grade.” It was her turn to smirk. I managed to keep my groan in. She pulled out the form, and showed it to me. It didn't take me long to get the gist of the paper.

My voice, dripping with that sticky false cheer, “That's great.” Just then, the bell rang. I was up and out of my seat in seconds. Before I left, I leaned across her desk, “By the way, that form says you've been moved to another school.” I walked out the door smirking, as I heard her frantically examining the paper.

“What?! How?!” I walked out the door and into the summer air with a smirk still on my face, never to see her again.

Can you do that to my racist, sexist, more-ist history teacher? Pweaseeee. I love this one it made me very happy imagining the happiness she could have at this moment. Lucky, but especially if it was an annoying counselor ugh. Judging her like that. Like wtf lady! That's right bye!

This is just short stories/one shots of Girl Love. The themes to my delight are all over the place. There's fluff, action, nightmares, drama, supernatural, a random poem, there's even a demon chapter in there somewhere, and many more. I hope you enjoy. :)
