“Brother! Where are you?” I laughed to myself as I stayed hidden behind the flower bush. I was now eight years old and had a four-year-old sister. She had long luscious blonde hair that seemed to flow down her back. Her skin was pale and reminded me of a child model back in my past life. She was very sweet and seemed to be easily scared. When she was very young, she always seemed to be crying. She never cried though when I was around her. I was her big brother in her eyes, and I needed to protect her from anything that could hurt her. I heard something crunch behind me and turned to see Johnathan.
“She almost found me. I had to think fast and dive into the bush.” He whispered. I picked off a few leaves from his hair and smiled. Johnathan had been coming over more and more recently. After that incident happened when we were younger, more guards were put around the garden area. It was a little overwhelming at first, but now we have gotten better with ignoring them. I felt bad though for the guards. Some days we were outside, it was very hot outside. They had to always stay in full armor while out here. I wondered if they were cooking inside. They rarely spoke to us. Even if we tried to start a conversation, one of our maids would stop us and tell us to let them be.
“Guys, where are you.” I could hear Alexandra start to cry and climbed out of the bush with Johnathan. I brushed off some of the dirt and leaves and was surprised when two arms wrapped around me, “Found you!” I looked to see her laughing and I noticed her eyes were somewhat puffy.
“Don’t cry. Your eyes always get so puffy, idiot.”
“I thought you guys left me.”
“When have we ever left you?” She looked down at the ground and Johnathan laughed.
“It’s time for us to go home, Prince Johnathan.” His maid, Martha said. She calmly walked over to us with Jessie, who was now Alexandra’s maid, and my butler, Eric.” He was young like Father and was more like a guard for me. He was very good with swords and conducted many lessons with me like fencing, horseback riding, and archery. Johnathan waved goodbye to us as he walked away with Martha. Alexandra yawned and Jessie walked over to her. She picked her up.
“Time for a nap, Princess.” I watched as they walked away also.
I looked at Eric, “Are we going to fence today?”
