“Wait Aurora I want to ask you something!” She sounded pleading but Becka was a charmer so it suits her. Aurora stopped and turned and I raced over to her. Becka looked at me and I could see a hint of hatred and jealousy?

“Aurora would you like to sit with me and the girls at lunch?” Aurora didn’t hesitate with her answer.

“No.”

“Please! I’ll let you invite, her…” she looked at me and I glared back.

“Thanks for the offer but I said no.” Aurora turned away and I followed her.

“Wow never thought I wouldn’t have to step in.” I told her when we were a bit away from Becka.

“I will admit I was a bit terrified.”

“But you stood up for yourself so be proud!” She nodded and we walked to class. I said goodbye when I was at my home room class and sat down in the back of the class. Students began to file in and the always stayed two rows in front and away from me. I closed my eyes and waited for the teacher to come in. I heard a chatter coming from all of the girls and a seat scratch across the ground beside me. The whole class became a quite buzz of fear and surprise. I opened my eyes and turned to see a boy beside me. He turned and looked at me.

“Hey dude you don’t mind if I sit here, right?” I narrowed my eyes and flicked my hair to show him I was a girl.

“Oh sorry I thought you were a guy!” I laid my head backward and closed my eyes.

“So your the new kid everyone talks about…?”

“Yep my names Jack! And you?”

“Jesus your way to nice.” He went silent for a moment and I continued. “Look kid I don’t care about you but what I do care about is that your near me so move up to everyone else.” He didn’t move and I sat up and stared at him threateningly. “Leave me alone!”

“Not until I know your name.” He stared at me unflinching and it was a surprise, no one has ever talked back to me before. It was… kind of amusing.

“Heh, good luck with that.” He was going to say something else but the teacher walked in and cut him off.

“So class we have a new student would you like to come up and introduce yourself?” He got up and walked to the front of the room.

“My name is Jack and I hope we can all get along with each other!” There was a murmur from the girls and I could tell they were probably talking about how cute he looked. Jeez it’s every new kid that comes in that those brats want for themselves! He walked back and sat next to me everyone was worried and confused even the teacher had the look. There most likely wondering why I haven’t punched him yet. Idiots. The teacher turned and we reviewed a lesson for Jack and the whole hour went like that. When the bell rang we all got up and left.

“Hey girl wait!” Jack was chasing after me and when he finally caught up I had already found Aurora. She pointed at him and looked at me. She leaned over to her side and looked at Jack.

“So what’s your name?” Aurora was always polite and every time she meets someone, she didn’t even know she acted like a mother. Jack caught his breath and replied.

“I’m Jack and who might you be?”

“Aurora nice to meet you!” I rolled my eyes and stepped away from him and stood next to Aurora arms folded and still aggressive.

“Are you to a thing?” Aurora quickly shook her head.

“No were just friends!” He nodded and if Aurora wasn’t right beside me I would have broken his nose by now.

“So where are you from?” Next thing I knew Aurora was being tackled by Becka. Aurora pushed her off and I got between them.

“Aurora why don’t you come talk to us instead! You to new kid!” Jack looked at us then her and before he replied I cut in.

“Yeah we're good Becka. Now leave!” She looked hurt but behind that there was anger in her eyes. She looked at my friend then Jack and left.

“Why did you do that!” Jack stared at me and Aurora looked away. I shook my head and motioned Aurora to come. I turned to him before we left.

“This school is filled with impostors and fakes. The sooner you learn that the better.” Jack only starred as we left him. Me and Aurora turned at the corner and walked into the band room. We sat at our usual spots and as everyone filed in the teacher came from behind the room.

“As some of you know we have a new student at the school and if you want to meet him… WELL TO BAD! Now where did we leave off?” If it was weird to have a favorite teacher for this reason only then call me dumb! He went on with his normal spiel and then the loud mouth of the school Cody came barging in.

“There’s a fight in the courtyard!” Many of the students got up and ran out the door while me and Aurora sat back to watch. Everyone filed in a minute later and let me say Mr. Williams was not happy.

“Cody detention for disrupting the class and everyone else can clean this room top to bottom besides for the two girls that stayed behind.” Most of the girls grumbled and others gave us glares while Cody’s friends patted him on the back while he walked out. Me and Aurora went to the corner of the room that was really already clean.
