Authors Note: I was at a wedding yesterday for about seven strait hours. So I decided to write a wedding style gl. After I've decided that this is one of my favorite gl's I've made. Enjoy. 😊
I was sitting in a chair in my best dress and heels trying to keep it together. My best friend Amelia is getting married. I've secretly loved her for years but I never got up the courage to say anything. So now I was sitting in a beautiful church while I tried to look like I wasn't slowly dying inside.
I got here at the last possible moment and sat in the back. I just wanted to be there and then leave after I congratulated her. The wedding started as everyone took their seats. The brides maids and the grooms men got into place. Music started playing as the groom walked down the isle and stood at the alter.
The doors opened and in walked the bride. Gorgeous didn't even begin to describe her. She scanned the crowd for me and gave me a big smile. I smiled in return. I was not going to ruin her wedding for my own selfish reasons. She slowly walked by me and stood at the alter.
The preacher began and after a speech about eternal love he said, "If anyone should object speak now or forever hold your peace." Right then Amelia looked at me. And I couldn't hold it in. Even if she hated me forever I had to say it.
I stood up prepared to make a fool out of myself. "I object!" Everyone gasped. No one dared to speak.
The preacher looked at me and stuttered out a "What?" I took a deep breath and started talking, "Amelia, I have been in love with you from the second we met in preschool and you told me to go to hell because I sat in your seat. But it came out as go to heel. And even if you hate me for it I refuse to never say anything and wonder what if for the rest of my life."
I took another deep breath and looked Amelia in the eye. I refuse to loose my nerve now, "Amelia, if you can look me in the eyes and tell me you don't feel the same ill sit back down and congratulate the newly married couple." Everyone looked back and forth between me and Amelia.
She had tears in her eyes. She let go of the man she's supposed to marry and ran to me. She jumped into my arms, "I waited so long for you to say something. Delilah, it has always been you." My heart repaired itself from my heart break.
I felt amazing. The groom stormed off of the alter, "Hey! What are you doing?! That's my wife!" Amelia grabbed my arm with a dazzling smile on her face, "Run!" That is exactly what we did.
We ran from the alter as fast as we could in dresses and heels. The groom chased us. But we ran hand in hand feeling better than we have in years. We ran strait to the limo and driver.
He was hired to drive the groom and bride to their hotel in Vegas after the wedding. He gave us a surprised look when he saw us but he got in and started the limo just the same.
I opened the door for Amelia and we jumped in. "Drive!" We yelled at the driver. He drove off with the ex-groom yelling curses at us.
As the church faded out of view the driver spoke with an extremely amused tone, "This is the best damned thing I've ever seen. Were to mam's?"
We laughed and Amelia took my hand, "To Vegas. Were getting married as soon as possible." She laughed, "Were also going to the Bahamas for the honeymoon. It's already been planed and paid for curtsy of my ex-fiancee. So why not enjoy it with my love." The driver laughed, "I've never heard a better idea Mam. Vegas it is." He muttered to himself, "Best damned thing I've ever seen." I looked at Amelia's beautiful face, "I couldn't agree more."
