“We are five minutes out.”
He began to laugh to himself, “So John was working for Dr. Peterson. You can have her. Too bad I lied about her being immune to the virus. I wish I could see Doctors face when he kills another innocent person and realizes there is no cure.”
He slowly got to his feet as he noticed another helicopter coming into site. The roof door opened, and a young male and female appeared, “A helicopter! I told you I heard one.”
Smith smiled as he walked over to them, “My boss sent me one. Would you like to come? I can only fit two more though.”
“It is just us. That would be wonderful.” The female cried as she hugged Smith.
Both male and female started to jump up and down waving their hands.
A gun shot went off as the young male fell back to the ground. The female let out a scream as she ran back towards the door. She noticed it had locked.
“Yeah, the roof door only opens to come out. Not go back in.” Smith warned as he walked towards the edge of the roof, “Have fun though dealing with him when he wakes up. It seems they shot him in the chest and not the head.” Smith grabbed onto a ladder that was dropped from the helicopter.
“No, please don’t leave me out here!” The female cried as the ladder started to lift off the roof. Smith watched as the male started to sit up as the female ran towards the side, “I can pay you whatever you want. Please!” She cried as Smith started to climb. Up the ladder. He turned and saluted her as he then continued to climb up it to the helicopter.
Someone helped him inside and he groaned as his waist touched the side. He still felt the pain of when he had gotten kicked before.
Someone gave him a headset as he sat down in a seat and strapped in, “What happened to John?” the pilot asked.
“John decided to take a special package to Dr. Peterson personally. I’m kinda sad that I won’t get to see how it turns out.”
“So, he took the bait just like Dr. Baxter said.”
“Oh, he took the bait.” Smith laughed.
“Did you not get along with your cousin? Seems harsh to just throw her to the wolves.”
“I think I am going easy on her, for what she had done.” Smith said as he looked out over the city. He closed his eyes and laid back then, “When will this city be destroyed?”
“In less than an hour. A few more people are getting picked up before this city bursts into flames.”
“I see. “Smith replied as he took a deep breath in.
