Yawning while scratching my arm, we waited for the so-called CEO to pop up any second from now on in the assembly hall. I glanced around. There were a lot more people present than that I had expected, which I thought to be strange since a murder took place three days ago. I mean yeah; I am here too, but believe me, if I didn’t know that the murderer who did this was my crazy ass stalker, I wouldn’t be standing here.
Cher nudged lightly against my shoulder, making me glance up to see what’s up. She leans down a little and whispered in my ear,
“A lot of people are here; don’t you think so?”
“Yeah, I noticed that too.” I whispered back. I thought about it a bit and I realized something. There are a lot of more female workers than male workers present now that I look at it more closely.
It couldn’t be, right? They wouldn’t choose hormones over rationality, right? “You don’t think that they are here, because the CEO is going to “show up”, right?”
Cher shrugged. “Well, it is the CEO we are talking about. Nobody has ever seen him before until today that is.”
“Yeah, well, I wouldn’t throw my life away just to see this “CEO” in real life.” I rolled my eyes. “Also, how do they even know that our new CEO is a he to begin with?”
She sighed while rolling her eyes. “It’s written somewhere on the company’s homepage. Do you even read that?”
“Do I even care?” Now it was my turn to roll with my eyes.
She giggled. “I guess not.”
“My god, you’re so stupid, aren’t you?” An annoying voice that I recognize came from behind us. Cher and I gave each other a knowing look and turned around unwillingly with a sigh; crossing our arms.
“What do you want Sabrina?” I exhaled.
She hunched over a little, flaunting her cleavage. “What I want is to get your under educated ass out of here. That you didn’t even know our CEO’s gender proves your ignorance and your disinterest in the company. FYI, in case you didn’t know our CEO was one of the youngest, smartest and richest man ever to be known. He had built many businesses before even building this one. Who wouldn’t want to meet this amazing man? And I’m even sure that he’s handsome as fuck.”
I just stared at Sabrina with disinterest. All I could hear from what she just said was how she’s going to make this rich man fall for her. Sabrina is such a typical blond bimbo, a gold digger, however you would call her.
I gave her a quick one over seeing how she was wearing a tight skimpy red dress that was clinging to every curve that she had. She just had to hunch over a bit more and her boobs would fall out of that dress while she would give everyone a panty shot.
Well, you could say that almost every guy in the company got the hots for her.
“We are not in the mood for you Sabrina and we certainly don’t want to hear how you're planning to fuck our CEO.” Cher said, already being done with her. “So please go walk that way.” Cher said while trying to shoo her away.
Sabrina glowered at Cher, but turns her attention quickly to me.
“Listen, only because the manager had a baby crush on you doesn’t make you any more beautiful or better than me, so don’t even dream going after the CEO.” She sneered at me.
I scoffed. This bitch is seriously still angry at me because her “target” had some feelings for me? I was never interested in him anyway and he became a total dick after I had refused his approaches and after being promoted to be the chief, he abused his power and made my work life a living hell.
I may sound awful for saying this, but I’m kind of glad that my stalker got rid of him for me (even though it was just to show what he was capable of). It also makes me scared because it just shows again how much access he got to my life.
“Don’t worry, I wouldn’t even dream of taking your man again. Also, I wouldn’t be interested in a man who has done you anyway, it just shows how rotten they are, just like your personality.” I smiled.
People who had slowly surrounded us to see what was up snickered in amusement at my comeback.
A purple-red shade of hue formed on Sabrina’s face as she sauntered angrily away, pushing the people aside who stood in her way.
With her hands on her side, Cher puffed her chest up proudly at my action. “You go, girl! If you had said nothing towards her, I would have wrung her little plastic neck off.” She said, making those hand motions.
“Also, why does it take so long for our CEO to show up?” She huffed impatiently.
And just on cue, the co-CEO showed up with someone next to him, But I couldn’t see anything because of those tall giants in front of me.
Cher already started to squeal next to me in shock. “OMG, April, our CEO is gorgeous! He should have become a model instead.” She said, already entranced by him. I tried to jump to even get a glimpse of him, but my jumping power ain’t all that.
So, I did what all short people would have done; I pushed forward. The Co-CEO tapped on the microphone as I was making my way through the fan-girling crowd, causing a high static noise that made everyone to cover their ears and eyes, including me.
I kept walking blindly until I hit the stage with my forehead. “Ouch!”
Slowly, I felt a hand cupping my cheek while the other hand caressed my forehead gently. “Are you okay?”
I went rigid hearing his voice. I recognize that voice. It was the same voice that gave me butterflies in my stomach. I slowly opened my eyes, staring at the same deep navy-blue eyes that made me flabbergasted.
He smiled as our eyes met, flashing his pearly white teeth. “We meet again I see.” He said with his baritone voice.
It was the godly looking man from the convenience store that took away my favorite cornflakes.
He is the freaking CEO!?
