Several witches stood in a circle around another one, her stomach showing that she was pregnant. A large book floated in front of her while she read from its pages, each witch gathered in chanting with her until nothing could be heard except their voices rising as one.
Their voices stirred the air around them and made the candles flames dance which in turn made the shadows join in the dance. They outstretched their hands towards each other forming a circle around the pregnant witch. Light flowed from each witch in turn into the next until it flowed in a circle as they stood, the power that could now be seen as a soft green glow followed the flow until the witches turned the arms towards the witch in the middle of them.
The light stopped moving in a circle and instead gathered around them until it was large enough, then it moved towards the pregnant witch. The witches sent their power at her, at her unborn baby as she had instructed them to do. As the power left them one by one they died and fell to the floor, their voices lost to the atmosphere that had been created in the large room.
The pregnant witch chanted until those around her laid dead and the baby inside of her kicked, she laid down as her water broke. Tendrils of green light flowing from her belly, two other witches which had not taken part in the ritual rushed to her side and got ready to deliver the baby, the baby so many powerful witches had given their power to. Not once did the witch stop her chant, and though her screams joined the words of the spell she did not stop even once, not until she heard the cries of her new born baby boy.
The doors to the giant room burst open all of a sudden just as the two other witches finished wrapping the new born in a blanket, another witch walked into the room and her eyes filled with hatred the second she saw the child. She stretched out her hand as if to reach for him but the mother of the child raised herself from the floor with what little magic she had left and gathered what little power she could and threw it at the witch who now flew out of the room like she had been shot out of a cannon.
Taking her baby while she could still do so the mother kissed each of his closed eyes and whispered a few words after each, she handed her most precious jewel back into the hands of the two witches that shared the same face, she watched as they turned and fled with her only child. The other witch came walking back into the room and gathered a black mist in her hand and flung it at the woman standing in the room watching her baby boy be carried away, but she did turn in time to see the attack, though the mist hit her stomach even though she had tried to deflect it.
The witch in the doorway laughed as the other fell to the floor as pain took over her senses, but her laughs died down as quickly as they arose when the whole room shook and the witch in the doorway looked at the roof with distaste and walked backwards a few steps before fleeing the way she had come from, she only turned back once and saw a man dressed in black kneeling by the woman’s side and holding her tight before looking in her direction, his eyes glowed the coldest blue as he stared at her.
