‘There is…’
In front of him, there were one of the biggest buildings of the old age. A meeting place for books that were never recovered after the natural disasters that hit Alexandria. For some mysterious reason, the library was waiting for him, slightly high between the mountains, like if the destiny invited him to enter.
Up the stairs, a young man, with a broken armor, dark complexion and a serious look, stood before him and the door.
‘Leave’ ordered.
‘I cannot leave!’ He insisted. ‘The Library will be set on fire soon, we must save the books!’
‘I see, another visitor from the future.’ For a moment, he turned to analyze the building awaiting the visit of the strange time traveler. ‘No. It is better that way. The books stored here bring very strange stories with them; about visitors like you. If those books go to the wrong hands, who knows what would happen.’
The strange visitor begins to medit at the insistence of the guardian. The visitor was not one of the discoverers and developers of time travel, nor a collaborator, not even a relative of someone close to the subject. He was nobody; just one more person on the planet, with the desire to use that ‘magic’ to avoid losing books. Suddenly, a reminder echoed in his mind.
Changing the past will only end in disgrace for a uncertain new future.
