Remember what I said about today being a good day?
Yeah, well, I lied.
My day went a little something like this:
I had just driven up to the school parking lot when Bethany came up to the car screaming and banging on the window.
“Jesus Christ Beth, what's wrong?”
I asked, almost blowing up myself.
“Someone told me they caught you cheating!”
She had practically screeched.
“Really? You’re freaking out over that?”
“Uh duh! You are my BOYFRIEND after all!”
Her face had started to go red.
I shrugged my shoulders.
I was done with this fake relationship anyways.
“Oh well.”
I said, stepping out of the car.
“Oh well? OH WELL?”
Beth looked hurt and outraged.
“Aris we had a deal!”
I shrugged again and began walking away.
“Guess the deals off now.”
“Aris, I will break up with you! ARIS!”
“Go ahead, see if I care!”
The students milling around us had started to whisper among them, filming the little show the both of us had been putting on.
I could hear gossiping already.
After all, the smartest couple in school had just broken up.
“Did you hear? Aris broke up with Beth…”
“What really? Weren’t they like, the smartest couple? What happened?”
Having enough, I stalked through the growing crowd, shoving my way through the students wanting to ask questions about what happened, and finally found my way into the school.
I had begun pacing the hallways of the school, thinking about what those worthless degenerates had to say about the ‘Break up’.
Why did they have to know anyways? It was none of their damn business.
They had other, more interesting stuff they could stick their snobby noses into.
My mind rambled on as I rushed through the corridors, then suddenly coming to a stop as I had reached a wall that looked out of place.
“I don’t remember this being here.”
I mumbled to myself. I started feeling around the wall and tapped on it.
Hollow.
I began pushing on it this time.
At first, it didn’t give but adding some more needed force did the trick.
With a soft ‘Click’ the wall flung itself open, leading to a set of stairs.
I peered down into the inky depths of the stairwell, careful not to lose footing and fall down in the process.
“Hello?”
I called softly, the sound of my voice echoing off the walls, getting closer.
After pondering a bit, I took a deep breath, placing a foot on the first step with a loud ‘Crreaak’.
Looking around to make sure no one was around, I began my descent into the black abyss waiting for me like a predator hunting its prey.
