Cross of Arrows

Chapter Seven

Chapter Seven

Sep 29, 2019

Disposed of Properly

She came bursting into his office, her hair frizzled out of its bun, mostly left to fall down her back.

Her words came out in a rush, a long string of things he couldn’t sort out and piece together. He tried to calm her, but he couldn’t even keep up with her words much less her pacing. She bounced quickly from wall to wall in her frenzy.

Eventually, he caught her, spinning her around in his arms and held tightly by her shoulders. Once she breathed and took a break from her panic, she leaned against him in exhaustion.

He let her rest a moment before he stepped away to look her straight in the eyes.

Her terror and panic weren’t lost on him and it only made his heart tighten in worry and rage at what had upset her so.

“Baby, please.” He pleaded with her, taking her hands in his own and pressing a series of kisses to each knuckle with eyes squeezed tight. “Tell me what’s wrong. What’s got you in such a panic?” His hands released hers to cup her face.

“The vials. My vials are missing! Nowhere to be found!” A small panic rose in him at her words, but he stomped it down.

“It's alright.”

“No! It's not!” She slapped away his hands, but he didn’t wince. “That could kill someone or… or… mess up one of the projects!” He held her fast before she could return to pacing.

Gently, he led her to his chair for her sit down and knelt before her.

“Really, it's okay. I took care of it a couple of weeks ago when I was inspecting the cooler after the tampering incident.” He held her hands, rubbing soothing circles on the back of them.

“You disposed of them properly?” A calm fell over her, shoulders dropping their tension.

“Not me per se, but yes, I made sure they were disposed of properly. I’m sorry I hadn’t informed you… you had me quite busy that night.” She blushed at the night he hinted at, letting him help her to her feet.

He assumed she’d return to work, but as he reclaimed his seat, she perched herself on his desk. Before she could speak, he caught sight of her bare legs and raised an amused brow.

“A skirt today, I see… What’s the occasion?”

“No occasion…” She removed her dangling hairband and attempted to comb out her hair.

Standing, he moved to stand between her legs, taking her hand and kissing its palm. His free hand traced playful patterns on her thigh, making her lean back on his desk and widen her legs.

She gladly accepted his tender kiss, giggling as he nipped at her bottom lip.

“I should go back to work.” He merely hummed, much to busy trailing his way to her panties while he suckled on her neck. “What if someone comes in?”

Her nervous look to the door had him grunting in impatience, but he moved away. He didn’t utter a sound as he made his way to the door. Excitement bubbled in her stomach as he took a quick peek outside before locking the door.

They’ve never done this before.

His assistant must have been as busy typing away as he was when she first passed his desk.

Then, with a predator’s swagger, he sauntered back over to where she waited and gave a gorgeous smile at the sight of her panties already removed and on the floor. He planned to take the rest of the afternoon if need be to sate the hunger that flared in her eyes at the sight of his very obvious bulge.
