The cavern was as dark as it was deep, and Raven waited in patience for her eyes to adapt. Slowly the shapes of the rocky wall revealed itself, and she was surprised to see deep claw marks scar their tough surfaces. Mindful of a potential threat, Raven flew to the top of the cavern and alighted on a small ledge, which allowed her to see all the way to the end of the cavern. And it was there she saw him.
A large lupine creature, almost as large as a horse paced furiously. His gray fur, light and dark in turns, blended the predator perfectly into the wall. Indeed he would vanish in plain sight were it not for his constant movement. And his eyes, his eyes told Raven the saddest tale of woe and misery next to her own. The Wolf howled.
