My mom is serious when it comes down to meetings, she favors to be there 10 minutes early. So as you can imagine, she was furious being late. In order to avoid more punishment than I was already in, I quickly put on a black suit with a white Tie. ( By the way, I hate dressing formally.) After brushing my hair and brushing my teeth I was frightened by my mom’s yelling. “Loprez Alexander! We are 25 minutes late!” She yelled from down the hall. I put on a random pair of shoes and met my mom next to the front door. She looked really stressed and tired, her long red hair was done back in a ponytail. She walked out the door and did a come on, movement with her left hand. We got in her van, and she began to drive.
The ride was mostly quiet. Mom was speeding because of her worry of being so late. Surprisingly, there were no police officers around that day. At a stoplight she turned around to look at me, she had an angered glare. “Remember to tell them about your ability and its details.” she said, in a strict voice. “Yes ma’am.” I quickly replied to avoid more punishment. As she started driving again she continued talking. “Hello my name is Carmine Alexander and my ability is to create electricity from my palms. One activation is enough to power an average house for two days!” She said, in a much nicer voice.
She never uses her ability for violence, she mainly uses it for when the power goes out. She basically becomes a short term generator. But every time she uses it she becomes really stressed out, enough so to ground me for almost no reason.
Ten minutes later we arrived at a small building, looked like an office. Mom bolted out of the car, leaving me with a very short amount of time before she locked the doors. She stopped by the front door of the building. “Open the door for me, look like you deserve to go to this school.” She whispered. As she said, I slowly opened the door. Instantaneously I was greeted by a young voice, “Hello, welcome to our office.” I heard from in front of my mom. I stepped beside her to see a male in his 30’s. He wore formal wear, and he had really fancy pink hair. His smile was very joyful, he had an amount of happiness I had never seen before. He took out a clipboard from a nearby table and began to write on it. “Application for Loprez Alexander?” He said, catching me off guard. “Yes sir.” I quickly replied, sweating slightly. He went towards the back of the room and opened a door, me and Mom followed.
We began to walk down a straight hallway, numerous rooms took up the space. I glanced in one of the rooms and saw someone my age producing string from his hands. “See? Just like my brother!” He said proudly. Another male with a clipboard wrote swiftly, taking notes. In other rooms there were similar situations, of course with different abilities. We stopped near the end of the hallway. “Room 048.” He stated, holding the door open for me and my mom.
The room was fairly small, having room for only three chairs and a desk. Two chairs next to each other, and the other chair was in front of the desk. “Oh I'm so sorry, I forgot to introduce myself.” The male said, he reached under his desk and opened what I assume was a drawer. He sat a folded piece of paper on the desk. Mr.Williams It read. “ I’m Antino Williams, the principle of Thunder Creek Academy.” He reached out to shake my hand, I grasped his hand and shook it gently. My mom managed to get the principle to interview me. This made me feel a bit too honored. Mr.Williams began to write on his clipboard, I blinked and there was suddenly four lines of writing. “Loprez, could I get a description of your ability?” He asked folding his hands, showing interest.
I took a deep breath, Making me slightly more confident. “My ability is to creative electric shocks, it seems. Right now I can’t really get that much out.” I said truthfully. Mr.Williams began writing again, a second later he glanced up. “If possible, could you show me an example?” Mr.Williams asked, patiently.
I began to focus my ability, I could feel a large electric buildup in my left arm. I tried to shoot the electricity at the wall. Instead, a small spark hit the wall. This sounds underwhelming but these results were better than what I would normally do. My arm stang from using my ability. “When I do this it also hurts me. I'm not sure about how much exactly.” I told him. Mr.Williams wrote at lighting speed, filling up an entire page in five seconds. “Loprez, have you tried maintaining the electricity in your body. Rather than releasing it?” Mr.Williams asked. I thought about that. When I focus on the electricity, I feel more powerful. Maybe holding it could give me some type of physical enhancements. “No sir.” I told him. He stood up, getting behind me. “Use your ability again, but punch the wall instead of trying to electrify it.” He stated.
I did as told. Electricity built up in my left arm again, I hold it longer and I realized that more electricity was being created. After a fifteen seconds there was a sharp pain, I let it go and punched the wall. There was no longer a wall, in the room in front of us a chair had hit the ceiling. My head buzzed, I felt slightly dizzy. “Amazing!” He said as he wrote on a new piece of paper. Even mom showed approval, she had a slight smile on her face.
30 Minutes later. “I can’t believe it, you got into this school!” Mom said happily, driving by the actual speed limit. “Same thing here.” I replied, the pain in my arm had finally faded away. I had to pack a suitcase that night. Thunder Creek Academy had student dorms. Mr.Williams showed me a map of the campus and it looked so big. The thought of making new friends filled me with joy. I fell asleep happily.
