“Mmmmmm….”
“Don’t stop…. p-please don’t stop!”
“Aahhhh…. harder! Harder Xa….”
Beep beep beep beep!
I slammed my hand down on my alarm clock, causing it to fall off the nightstand near my bed. I groan as I realize it was time for me to get out of bed and head to school. Unfortunately, today felt as if it was going to be an off day. I looked at the calendar on my phone. Only three more days until graduation, today being Friday. Once I graduate, I’ll be able to focus on looking for my mate, something I truly look forward to.
Most people do not think I am an omega at first glance, though I don’t understand why. I am on the shorter side, standing at 4 feet 9 inches. My hair is a darker brown, while my left eye is green, and my right eye is a lilac color. With that being said, I hope my mate is nice and accepts me despite my looks. Not that I’ve been treated badly, well, except for the bully at school. He corners me every chance he can just to tease me. Thankfully he’s only ever said hurtful things and not gotten physical. That’s something, right?
I went downstairs once I got out of bed and got ready. On my way down I could smell blueberry pancakes with whipped cream. My favorite! I ran into the kitchen to find my mom at the stove and my dad at the table with his book.
“Good morning mom”, I said sweetly.
“Good morning my little ray of sunshine”, she turned around flashing me her prize-winning smile. “Breakfast is almost ready! I made your favorite!”
“I can smell that, thanks mom! You’re truly the best!”
We hear the pitter patter of little feet running towards us. I turned to see Ollie, my 4-year-old nephew, running right for me.
“Zay! Zay! Good morning!”
I giggle, “Good morning Ollie! How are you this morning?”
Ollie came to a stop, hugging my legs like his life depended on it. “I’m okay! I smelled something good and saw you when I was coming find it!”
I laughed at that and picked him up into my arms, settling him onto my hip as I walked to the table. I live with my mom, dad, two sisters, a sister-In-law, a brother-In-law, 3 nephews, and a niece on the way! Sadly, I am the youngest of my siblings. I am also the only male omega my family has had in about a hundred years. It is a very rare thing to be a male omega, but they say our calming pheromones are more potent and that’s why all the kids in the house love me. It is also why our house stays so calm when I am around.
“Are you nervous for your graduation in a few days sweetheart?” my dad asks from where he was reading at the table.
“A little. I just hope my mate is nice and accepts me. I want someone I can depend on if I ever need them, but I also want someone who will show their love for me no matter what”, I answer him, forcing a smile on my face.
“I am sure your mate will be wonderful! Although, we will miss having you around all the time. I hope we get a little more time with you after you graduate before you find your mate”, my dad says, a sad look in his eyes.
“Don’t worry daddy, even after I find my mate, I will come visit!” I say to try to reassure him, smiling the best smile I can.
I look at the time on the wall clock and realize I will be late for school if I don’t leave now! I run upstairs and grabbed my phone, backpack, and wallet. I run back downstairs, hug my father and kiss my mom and Ollie goodbye. As I am running out the door, I grab a banana from the counter, a little mad I didn't get my favorite pancakes.
Once outside, I see my neighbor, Xavier, coming out of his house. He is the next alpha of our pack, being the most dominant alpha of his sibling. And let me just tell you, this is a god of a man! He is 6 feet 5 inches tall with a slim yet muscular build. I guess his build comes from him being in the dance line at school more than genetics. He has strawberry blonde hair with the lightest tan skin and the prettiest cyan eyes! With my banana in my mouth, I wave to him. He blushes and waves back.
“Good morning Zayn, do you need a ride to school this morning?” he asks me as he gets to his car.
“Sure! That would help me to not be late! You are a life saver Xavier!” I say as I run to him and his car, throwing my banana peel in the trash along the way.
“Anything for you, cutie”, he says giving me his best smile.
I blush as he opens the passenger side door for me to get in. He then walks around to get into the vehicle, and I watch him the entire time. Once he slides in, he starts the car, but before he backs out, he turns and gives me his huge gorgeous smile. I feel my heart skip several beats in my chest as I turn and gaze out the window.
“So, are you excited for graduation on Monday?” he asks as we drive down the road.
“I guess so. I am just nervous to find out who my mate is”, I answer him honestly.
“And why is that?” he glances at me out the corner of his eye, a concerned look on his face as he watches the road.
“Well as you know I am not exactly the prettiest omega, and I am a male”, I say looking down at my hands. ‘I couldn’t possibly say I hope it’s you’, I thought to myself.
“Zayn do not talk down on yourself like that, within my presence or not. You are a gorgeous omega, even though you are a male, which is rare. You are a perfect omega from what I know about you! Not only do you have beauty, but you are caring and kind to all those around you. You can cook and you keep the house clean without being asked. You can be snarky and sarcastic, but that makes you interesting, so nothing is ever boring with you! You truly are a sweetheart, and anyone will be lucky to have you as a mate!”, he says, turning his head from the road a few times to look at me.
I blush fiercely at his words, still looking at my hands in my lap. No one has ever said such things to me before. Sure, I hear that I am gorgeous all the time, though I don’t think so. But I have never had someone describe my personality like this and it makes my heart feel as though it will jump from my chest! When I look up, I see that we are pulling into the school parking lot. I let out a deep sigh. ‘Please let today be a good day!’, I thought to myself before I stepped out of Xavier’s car and headed into the school.
