Standing by the door, Mr. Wu promptly checked his watch, and then glanced up at the street that lead to the school's main entrance. 2 minutes. That's not a lot of time for anyone to make it through before the doors to the school closed. A smile crossed his face as he reached towards the doorknob and began to-
"Wait!" Her voice echoed from the end of the street, making him flinch. And there she was, one of the smallest kids in her grade, sprinting towards the door, donning the usual dark-green jacket, her long hair trailing behind her.
With a groan, he looked at his watch again, the minute mark just one tick away from 9 o'clock. It became a routine for Mr.Wu at this point, about to close the door only to see her making her way there. Same jacket, same messy hair held together by a measly green hair clip, and usually the same clothes that she was wearing the day before, making him honestly wonder what she did in her free time that prevented her from changing into anything new.
"Wait Mr.Wu!" she shouted with a heaving breath, practically dragging herself up the school steps, using the railing to make the final step. He stared at her tiredly as she, for the umpteenth time this year, made her way into the school, on time, just barely.
