The next morning, Yuki was going out with her best friend, Yori. They were supposed to go shopping, but Yuki's mind was not onto it. Her mind was drifting off somewhere else, to a certain someone and a certain incident that happened the night before. "Haahhh..." Yuki sighed in depression as she remembered what she had told Kaname last night.
-A little flashback from the night before-
"Thank you, Kaname-senpai." Yuki said. "Thank you... But, Zero is not the one who killed Hiou Shizuka." She added as she looked at Kaname with a serious face.
"Sure. If Yuki says so, I will take it as that." Kaname replied with a smile on his face.
Yuki frowned slightly before she said again, "I'm serious."
"And I've always been serious if it concerns you too." Kaname simply replied.
Yuki seemed more annoyed, so she bluntly said, "I will not talk to Kaname-senpai again until you admit that Zero is not the one who killed her." And with that, she had left Kaname alone with Ichijou Takuma.
-End of Flashback-
"What's wrong, Yuki?" Yori asked looking at her best friend worriedly. "Ah... I-it's nothing." Yuki answered as she laughed nervously. "Well, we should go now before the market is closed." Yori said, trying to encourage her best friend. "Right! It's better to have fun now! Let's go-" Yuki said already firing up when she's suddenly stopped by someone. She looked down to find a boy who was pulling on her sleeve. "M-mom... I can't find her..." The boy said between his sobs.
"Ah, Yori-chan, I will take him to his mom, sorry, but can you go alone?" Yuki asked apologetically to Yori. "Are you sure, Yuki? Do you want me to go with you?" She offered as she was worried too. "It's alright. You better go soon before the shop is closed." Yuki said with a smile on her face. "Alright then." Yori hesitantly said before the two walked separately.
"Are you sure it is this way?" Yuki asked as she had been following after the boy. He had brought her further from the market so that she was unsure. "Yes, it is near already." The boy answered as he kept on leading her. Then, not too long after that, they stopped. "Ah, you can stop here, big sister. I can find my own way from here." The boy said turning to look at Yuki with a smile. "Are you sure? I can take you all the way to your mother." Yuki replied still getting worried about him. "Ah, you really are such a kind person, big sister." The boy spoke again as he walked up to her. "Huh?" Yuki was surprised as he suddenly kissed her cheek. "Thank you, big sister." And with that, the last thing Yuki could see was the little boy standing above her smiling to her.
Unknown to the two, on the other part of the street, someone else was watching everything. However, they did nothing as they just watched it all happened until Yuki was unconscious on the floor. Then, they saw some guys were walking up to her. They were wearing the night class uniforms, signing they were vampires from the academy. "Look, Hanabusa." One of the guys with orange hair said. "I found Cross Yuki who for some reason had slept in the middle of the way." He continued as he turned to look at Hanabusa who later also looked at the girl laying on the floor, then their view moved to the other guy wearing black attire. "What a troublesome kid." The guy in black commented as he watched the sleeping girl before carrying her up bridal style. The silent watchers then followed them to the building they were heading.
Upon opening her eyes, Yuki had found herself in an unknown room. She tried to stand up as she saw Kaname, but then she felt dizzy and was about to hit the ground again if Kaname did not catch her. "Th-thank you, Kaname-senpai. But, where's this?" She asked looking around. "Yuki." Kaname began. "I thought you don't want to talk to me?" He asked her, and Yuki was reminded about what happened the night before. "Th-that was only because Kaname-senpai was also thinking that Zero was the killer." Yuki admitted. "I did not mean to make Kiryu-kun as the bad guy. However, it was still unknown about the real killer, and until the case is closed, there was no other suspect." He explained.
Before Yuki got to speak again, the door was knocked. "Come in." Kaname replied to the knock, and then Ichijou walked in. "So, what were you doing before, Yuki?" Kaname asked turning back to Yuki. "Well, I was taking this one boy to meet his mother, when he then kissed me as thanks, and before I knew it I had lost consciousness." Yuki explained. "Ah, it might be one of the guests' kid then." Ichijou was the one to reply. "Vampire children had the ability to make one unconscious with a kiss." He explained. "A vampire?" Yuki asked confused.
"Yes. There is a vampire gala going on right now in this building." Ichijou answered her again. "Oh, right, Kaname, I came here to call you. The gala's about to start." He said as he turned to look at Kaname who stood up form his seat. "I understand." He said before turning to Yuki. "Yuki, do not leave this room before I return, okay?" He warned her. "O-okay..." Yuki simply replied before she watched the two left her alone in the room.
"A room without a window..." She muttered as she was looking around the room, then suddenly an image flashed on her mind. "Wh-what... What was that?" She asked to no one as she put her hand on her forehead. "It feels like I've ever seen a room like this..." She thought in her mind, then it was suddenly disturbed when the door to the room was suddenly opened, revealing the little boy she helped before.
"Human big sister. I'm sorry about before. I did not mean it." He said as he was still holding the doorknob, looking guilty. "Don't worry about it. Have you found your mother?" Yuki replied with a smile on her face, but the boy just left her and closed the door again. "Ah..." She called out but he had gone already, so she hesitantly opened the door and got out of the room, breaking her promise with Kaname not to leave the room.
Yuki then found herself standing on the second floor above the big hall where the vampires were crowding. She even noticed some actors, actresses, and even some companies' leaders. "So, they're vampires." Yuki thought in her mind. Then, her eyes found someone familiar. "Zero?!" She then quickly hid behind the terrains. "What's he doing here? Invited...? No... Then it must be patrolling? Haha... Even at a time like this, he's still..." Her mind continued to run through as she stole some peeks to look at Zero who was walking around the hall that was filled with vampires.
Zero did not really want to come to that place actually, and obviously. However, it was an order from the headmaster and the hunter society. He was to act as a vampire hunter to oversee the gala that was going on. Then, he found his master attending as a vampire hunter too. "What're you doing here? I can do it myself." He said to his master who was now standing beside him. "Well, I was also ordered to come, so here I am." He simply answered. Zero sighed and looked away from him when he spotted a glance on someone familiar. "That's..." Zero muttered lowly. "I'll be right back." and then, he went after someone who looked like him.
Back to Yuki. She was now looking at a vampire she knew very well. "Kaname-sama." Called one of the vampires. "I thank you very much for looking after my son even until this time." Said a blonde vampire with his two children behind him. Apparently, he was Hanabusa Aido's father. "It is nothing. Thank you for hosting this gala too." Kaname simply replied with a smile on his face. Then Hanabusa's father spoke again, "Ah, if Kaname-sama doesn't mind." He then turned to look at her daughter. "Tsukiko." He called and she stepped in. "This is my daughter, Tsukiko, if you do not mind, I would like to suggest her to be your wife." The father spoke. "F-father!" Hanabusa quickly tried to stop his own father. "Well, I do not have any thought about it right now, but I will keep it in my mind." Kaname politely answered. Then more of the guests introduced their daughters to him. Yuki could only saw it and felt a pang in her heart, so she quickly ran back to the room before she was found out. However, unknown to her Kaname had noticed her and was looking at where she had left before.
But, unknown to the two of them, someone else was looking at them. "This is getting sickening." The person commented in a low voice that only her attendance could hear. "Well, should we be getting back now, then, Princess?" The attendant asked in a polite manner. "Hmm..." The princess just hummed quietly as she inspected the situation more. She then suddenly walked up to the crowd who was surrounding the pureblood vampire.
As she walked up to them, they suddenly stopped talking to the pureblood and turned their attention to her and her attendant who was following from behind. "Wh-who is she?"One of the crowds asked to the others. "I-I don't know." The other answered. "Just what kind of aura is this...?" The other commented. "It almost seemed like a pureblood." The others joined in. "That's impossible..." Another one spoke. "Yeah, because..." Another joined in and more murmurs could be heard as the princess and her attendant arrived in front of Kaname.
Kaname just looked at the person in front of him curiously, as he could not see their face for they had worn masks. "Pleasure to meet you, Kuran Kaname-sama." The princess spoke as she bowed elegantly in front of him. "Rather than all the other girls out there." She began as she gave a slight glance to the crowds and that took everyone's attention to her. "I would recommend a girl that would best suit you." She continued and she knew the guests had begun murmuring about her once again. Hanabusa was looking at her suspiciously too along with the other night class students, especially Ruka. "Do not worry. I do not mean myself." The princess spoke again and that only got everyone else's attention more.
She then stepped closer to Kaname before she whispered to his ears, and his eyes seemed to widen slightly, but only for a while as no one had noticed it, as what they were focusing was on how dare the girl got that close to the pureblood vampire. "Hey, you! Who're you?! How dare you get that close to Kaname-sama?!" Hanabusa had stepped in and about to pull her away before she had moved away herself.
"You?" The attendant repeated. "Who do you think you are to call the princess with such insolent words?" She spoke up as she stood between the princess and Hanabusa. "Princess?" Hanabusa spoke out his confusion, and other's too apparently. "Yes! She is the one and only, Princess Luna Vladmir Tepes, from the Tepes family!" The attendant introduced her princess with such proud, and that got everyone's attention.
