Sometimes I like an artist's old style. Sometimes I'll like the new style. In the end, it's not my art so what I like doesn't matter it's what the artist likes that matters.
I would also say, never fault someone for giving honest opinions and feedback (though said feedback should always be worded as politely as possible).
