Head high up, hands tucked inside the pockets of his cargo pants and anxiety at an all time high, Leo walked through the street in a very obnoxious way. The streets were mostly empty, consisting of soldiers and few people heading home as the sun settled in and the moon slowly took its place. The world around him seemed empty and lonely, yet alive. Buildings around him were isolated, several cars were left in the streets, trash covered the alleyways and frightened soldiers accompanied the lonely city that was once full of life.
War brought the country to a declining state, making the citizens morale low, since people were unsure if the country would fall to the hands of the enemy. The Government was falling and the economy was slowly declining, foreshadowing a future depression. Knowing this, revolutions are bound to happen, making everything work on Leo's behalf.
Being a revolutionist was something he never felt proud of. It was like an itch he couldn't reach; annoying. Throughout his life he always followed people around and did whatever he was told, and his current situation was not different. Was he dragged to this because of his Base? He was unsure and he didn't care. He'll do it for the people and disappear after the whole war fiasco was over.
He chuckled and kept walking. Soldiers quietly looked at him, holding their rifles against their shoulders. Their uniforms were soggy and wet, as a strange stench came from them, making Leo wince in disgust. Despite this, he kept on walking, heading directly towards the heavily guarded building that housed the powerful leaders of the now falling country which failed to protect itself and its citizens.
Soldiers, covered in heavy armor, guarded the front gates. Leo looked left and right, spotting most of his comrades hidden in abandoned buildings, ready to pull the trigger. He nodded his head; and walked to the gates. Once he got there, he raised his hand up, signaling the comrades to shoot. The soldiers in front of him fell to the ground, making water splash everywhere. From behind, several Revolutionists popped out from the alleyways and started attacking, making the overall scene more chaotic.
Leo kicked the gate open and headed towards the tall white doors that led to the leaders. Once he got there, he kicked the doors open only to be greeted by men who aimed their guns towards him. With very little time to react, the soldiers pulled the triggers, forcing Leo to snap his fingers, making the bullets freeze several inches away from his body.
