I'm trying to break my watch and bike at the same time.
It's not the best combination.
One hand is on a bike handlebar and the other is fumbling with the watch's three buttons and almost ramming into random, innocent pedestrians.
My sandy colored hair is falling in my face along with a few strands of my oak colored hair, obstructing my vision. 8:46, 8:47, 8:48, 8:49, 8:50, 8:51, 8:52, 8:53, 8:54, 8:55, 8:56, 8:57, 8:58, 8:59, 9;00, 9:01, the numbers on my watch flash behind my vision.
I look up to see the buildings flash by. Cripsley School of Engineering, Eastern School of Law, Pastern School of Math, I stop the bike at the school of math and push it toward the bike share slot, locking it in so it doesn't charge me extra money that I can't afford to spend. I only took the bike share bike because I didn't have enough time to freaking get my own bike out. I arrived at 8:18, dumped the boxes in my dorm and ran like hell out of there. Classes started at 8:15 and as it cheerfully said on the college pamphlet, Teachers expect you to be at their classes early!
I'm over 20 minutes late.
I run through the hallways, stopping at room 172. The door creaks open and I see 4 rows of people staring back at me and I the first thing I think is, Ah, crap. now they have a bad impression of me. The next thing I think is, Why the fuck do I care? I stare at the clock. 8:41. Not bad. the teacher just blinks at the boy (me) who just burst into the classroom.
"Colin Eastern, I presume?" The teacher says, staring me right in the face. I stare back, glaring. Like, I don't even freaking care what the teacher thinks of me. I point to my watch but can't get the words out that it's broken as an excuse because everyone is staring at me.
The teacher points to a chair in the second row and I see a second chair next to me that doesn't have anyone in it.
Right when I sit down, another boy crashes through the door. He has black hair that falls and covers one eye. Japanese, but not like he grew up in Asia, Japanese (his skin is a little more tan). Probably has a girlfriend, job, caring for sibling. Whatever. This world just has this way of throwing cute, straight boys into my life.
"Tyler Neverth?" The teacher asks, but it's pretty obvious it's him, seeing as he's the last person here. The name sounds familiar to me, but I can't put my finger on what He walks to the only seat left, which happens to be next to me. He laughs and tips his head at what someone says as he's walking. His hair falls slightly to the side uncovering his other dark brown eye. Tyler takes the seat and throws a small, cute smile at me. The only thing I can think about is if I do something wrong and I mess up and he gets a bad impression of me and...
Whatever.
But the class ends and I leave like nothing happened and life doesn't matter. And then the only thing I can think about is when night will come and Nightfox will reveal themself again.
