Tyler is staring at me with his beautiful, shiny black eyes. I cough and mutter, "have to go unpack," and walk away.
I grab my box and walk to my room. It has a cherry mahogany table in the corner and a small bed in the left corner, next to a window in the farthest wall away from me. There's a small closet door to the right of me and a door in the front of the right wall which I'm assuming leads to a bathroom. No shower, unfortunately, I'm sure, but luckily I only have to share one with Tyler. I'm sure both of us being gay will make this more complicated and awkward.
But back to unpacking. I open the box and take out my 9 sets of clothes, along with some extra clothes, meaning that I'll have to wash clothes every week or so. The clothes go to the closet. I open the closet door and notice that it has a dresser on the side. Four drawers. I put shirts in the top, pants in the next, etc. But I'm struggling with where to put Nightfox's costume until I see a crack in the closet. The fox senses are slipping out and I shut them back into a mental box in my mind. Pushing on the wall, I notice that there's a small area inside but can't figure away to get the suit in there without making the crack bigger and more obvious.
Sighing, I touch the costume and it disappears in a puff of smoke and appears in the small crack, barely visible. I shouldn't be using my abilities when I'm still Colin, but they're starting to leak into my current life. I walk out of the small closet and close the door. I walk out of my room and into the main room.
From what I know, most people with abilities have only one, ranging from aquakinesis to invisibility to anti-gravity.
I have four.
Teleportation, cryokinesis, umbrakinesis, and shapeshifting.
I walk into the main room and see Tyler looking at something on his phone.
"Did you eat dinner?" Tyler asks softly.
"No, but I can make something for us," I respond, "Do you have any microwavable noodles?" He throws me something from next to him. My arm moves unnaturally fast and catches it. Tyler cocks an eye at me.
"Nice reflexes," he says and I give him a small smile. I fill the noodles with water and put them in the microwave for three minutes. While I wait, I walk and sit next to Tyler. He puts his phone down and I see what he was looking at. It's one of the pro-gay rights newsletter websites online- one of the last ones. The title of the news article reads, "Another Unfair Persecution- When Will It End?" Tyler sees me reading it and color rises to his cheeks.
"It's okay," I whisper, "You don't have to hide who you are here with me."
"I won't," he promises and smoothes my hair down with his left hand. He has to move his body closer to do it, and our lips connect. The world seems to stop as his hand grips the back of my head and pulls it closer and his other hand snakes around my body and soon my hand is in his hair and his shirt is off and mine is too and his soft, beautiful, luscious lips are gripping mine and the electricity is pounding through my body and all I can think is, Don't stop, and my world is shaking and blurred at the edges and I know I love him and only him and our chests are pressed together and his abs are pushing against my skinny chest and now we're lying on the couch and the microwave goes off.
Tyler pulls my body up with his and our lips are still pressed together and he walks us to the counter where he pushes me against the corner. My head falls back against the rough wood and I open my eyes. His eyes are open too and we're looking deeply into each other lovingly when I pull away to grab the microwave door and the noodles. He looks at me and my hazel brown eyes stare back. He blinks in confusion.
"I thought your eyes were blue," Tyler says and I swear under my breath.
"They are," I respond, "but sometimes they look hazel-like. Look carefully, and you and see a hint of blue," I will my eyes to become more blue again and he nods.
"Oh."
"It's weird, I know," I say, but he just kisses me and smiles. Tyler grabs the noodles, all of them, and I grab a fork. I run to him to grab the bowl, but he shakes his head and grabs my fork. A forkful of noodles enter his mouth and he makes exaggerating eating noises, but fortunately he's short and I can grab it. I'm taller than him. I grab the fork and take a bite. The noodles are plain and because I forgot to add the seasoning. It's fine. I'm fine with it because I'm with Tyler right now and nothing can go wrong.
