“So, what do you do, Raven?” Wolf asked. Raven gestured to the playing children.
“I travel. I observe people and their lives. I find new tales to fill my own.”
“Sounds miserable.”
“Oh, and what do you do all day? Sit in a cave and pretend to be manly, no doubt.” Wolf's eyes sharpened dangerously upon her.
“Have you been following me?” He demanded in a harsh voice. Raven was surprised by how accurate her guess was.
“What? No! I jested! Do you really sit in a cave all day?” Raven could not help the grin that grew on her face.
“I don't want to talk about it.”
“Aw, come on, that's adorable.”
“I said I don't want to talk about it.”
“There's nothing to be ashamed of.”
“I said I don't want to talk about it!” Wolf snarled, his faces taking on a decidedly wolfish appearance. Raven's eyes bulged at the partial transformation.
“Your face,” Raven whispered. Wolf touched his changed features. “You're a-”
Wolf howled and left Raven's side, rushing with inhuman speed towards the forest. The wary villagers parted before him as his form shifted, becoming the wolf form she knew well as Wolf. He vanished into the trees.
