I leave my crappy house and walk quickly out the door. I walk through the streets and make my way through the crowd. Because the streets are so busy and you might bump into people, we have roses. The roses are just necklaces that are long and have a rose, red or white, on it. It isn't the best system but it's ok.
I continue to walk through the streets, looking in the store windows as I pass. Not that I could even afford to buy anything, but it's fun to dream. I want to get as far away from my house as possible so I decide to go to the edge of town. I finally make it and I have no idea what to do. It's quiet and there aren't many people around. I wish life could be like this more often, quiet, slow. I look around and the only thing other than the town behind me is a dirt road. I decide to follow the road and see where it goes. It doesn't look harmful, plus even if it was, I really don't care at this point. Maybe I'll get lost and then won't have to come back to this disgusting place.
As I slowly walk down the dirt road, dragging my feet into the ground with every step I take, I notice the sounds of nature. I've never really been outside of the city before, so this is new to me. Birds singing, leaves crumbling, twigs cracking, animals run in the bushes. It's all very peaceful
Just as I'm about to forget about my shitty life, A car comes around the corner and even though the driver brakes, the car hits me and I am thrown to the floor. I look up a boy about my age, 22, looks at me. He has green eyes and cute curly orange hair. He has freckles all over him. He's really cute, like crazy cute. I look at what he's wearing a realize right away that he's a white rose. Well, forget about that ever happening...
"Are you okay?" The boy asks very politely but keeping a distance.
"Shit. No, ow..."
"I'm so sorry!"
"It's fine, I'm already having a crappy day..."
"I'll pay for the medical bill and any sort of compensation."
'Of course, he can afford that'
"By the way, My name is Carter, Carter Cross," He tells me as if he thinks we could be friends.
"Jacob, but you can call me Jake," I respond politely. If he wasn't a white rose, this is when we would've shaken hands but...
"Once again, I'm so sorry,"
"No problem," I say, trying to end the conversation.
"Here, this is my phone number, call me and tell me what the cost ends up being, I'll pay for all of it," He says, the walks back to his car. He slightly opens the door but then turns back.
"Bye!" He says cheerfuly as if I'm his first-ever friend.
"Bye," I respond as he gets into his car and closes his door.
"I guess I'll see you later," I whisper under my breath...
