Well, I wouldn’t really be alone. True, my family and the stable’s staff would go back to Benton Stables while I attended the academy. However, twenty of my mom’s students and their horses would be there as well. Of course I’d have Baelfire.

The truck pulled up in front of a building with a sign labeled Quentin Academy Main Office. My mom and I got out and walked into the building. I gave the secretary my name and information and got my room building and number, room key, and stall info for Baelfire. My mom made sure that the other students from the stables and their horses were checked in and ready to get settled.

Now that we’d gotten paperwork taken care of,  we drove to the stables. The students were unloading horses and settling them into their stalls with help from several grooms. I unloaded Baelfire and led him to his stall. I took off his halter and made sure he was comfortable with enough shavings, hay, water, and his evening grain.

“It looks like Baelfire is pretty happy in his new stall.” My mom said as she walked up to the stall. 

“He sure is,” I agreed.

My mom went to check on the others and I went to go grab the rest of Baelfire’s things. I grabbed his brushes, saddles, bridles, pads, blankets, sheets, and girths. I placed them in our area in the spacious tack room. I had a set for Hunters/Jumpers/Equitation, a set for Dressage, a set for Cross Country, and two Western sets, one for Pleasure and one for Barrels. With my horse content for the night and our things put away, I headed back to the truck to get a ride to the dorms.
