“You’ll never guess what I heard, Lux.” Greed picked up another glass of wine. He swirled it around before downing it in one long sip. He briefly looked around the hotel room they had been residing in. They would go out and gabble during the day. Maybe grab a few humans to party with. The humans would pass out over furniture. Either one of them would usually call up a demon to get rid of them. How are we expected to relax with such creatures around? He and Lust would then play a few card games. A delicious cycle.
“You know you’re not supposed to drink it like that,” Lust scoffed as she threw down another pair. “Do you have an eight?” Greed shook his head and Lust picked up a card from the pile. “What did you hear?” Lust brought her glass to her lips.
“One of my minions saw Pride.” Lust choked on her wine. Coughing as she got it down.”Do you have a 2?”
“Nope. I thought she was doused. The angels got her.” Lust stared down at her cards. “It’s not like they just let demons go.”
“I know! I have some guys to keep an eye on her. It’s not like Lucifer has given her any orders. He thinks she’s dead!” Greed poured more wine into his glass.
“Ugh, I’m bored! You gonna tell him she’s alive.” Lust threw herself back into the sofa grabbing a silk blanket. Her cards falling weakly to the ground.
“Hey, you’re only bored because you're losing. Pick them back up!” Lust played with her black hair not meeting the bright blue eyes of Greed’s favorite vessel. Greed sighed, knowing that he wasn’t going to get Lust playing again. He threw his cards into the pile and began to organize them. “I don’t think I will or at least until it's a good opportunity for me. Pride’s whole word is Hell, both literally and metaphorically. Whatever reason she has for not coming back... Doesn’t matter to me.” He drank the rest of the glass.
Greed held up his empty glass. “Glad that’s over with.” He scoffed. “Can’t believe humans can palette this swill.”
“You drank the entire bottle… On your own. If you don’t like it, don't drink it,” She groaned. “Who cares about Pride. That prude can stay on Earth. She is only our boss in name. Not like she does anything with it except hold it over us! What she does doesn’t matter to me.” Lust pulled out her phone beginning to tap away on whatever phone game she was playing this week.
“I know something that’ll matter to you,” Lust stopped at Greed’s comment. “I know where Wrath’s been.” In a flash Lust’s eyes lit up.
“What, where?!” She rushed over learning over his position on the floor. “Is it somewhere good?”
“Oh, the best! She’s on Earth. Not like she could be anywhere else,” Greed chuckled. Lust gaped, staring at him like he went insane.
“But… Wrath hates humans… Probably more than almost any demon.” Lust went from shock into laughter. “Okay, now I know you’re messing with me.” Lust sat on the ground leaning against the sofa she had sat on before.
“I have proof!” Greed pulled his phone from the pocket of his pants. After spending a few seconds he pulled up the picture. It was of Wrath with some human neither of them could recognize exiting a large residential building.
“What is Wrath doing with a human that she isn’t torturing?”
“No clue. One of my underlings was scoping out a bar when he saw her.” Greed went to place his phone on the table next to them. It was lined with empty or partially drunk alcoholic beverages of all kinds.
“Wait, send the picture to me,” Lust chucked. “I’m gonna keep an eye on there! See what’s going on for myself. Hell, I may be able to get some good shit on Wrath. Something I can remind her of for centuries to come. Like Pride and Ceaser.”
“To be fair, Pride had no idea they would stab him.” Greed laughed to himself.
“Still failed a job though.” Lust grabbed her phone. “I gotta head out, it’s been a fun few days. However, I got some souls to… play with.” She chuckled.
“I’m gonna stay for a few days more. My boys know what to do.” Greed opened a bottle of wine. Raising it as a toast. Lust rolled her eyes before tapping her glass to his. Downing the rest of her drink.
Lust waved and teleported herself down into hell. Leaving Greed alone with the bottle.
