Sebastian was in his Underlab. It was important for his students to understand anatomy, so today was the Frog Dissection. He was supervising and watching their reactions as they followed his instructions. Tense and Devin weren't speaking, Elise hadn't shown up, and Cassidy decided to go back to work, under Bryce's close watch. The girls were on the verge of vomiting, and the boys weren't any help to them.
"My dear girls, this creature has the most of the same insides as we all do." Liam stated
"Perdón? So when we all die." She sniffed the amphibian. "Ew! We'll smell like a wet dog too?" Tense expressed
"Perhaps." He replied
"Now with the sharp end of the scalpel, gently press and glide down the center of the stomach." Sebastian instructed, the class followed suit.
A foul stench started to pollute the room.
"Ugh! It's like a stink bomb in here!" Bailey expressed
Everyone dropped their tools and ran up the stairs, Sebastian stayed behind to clean up. Once above, they stood on the porch and inhaled all the fresh air they could. Devin winced and leaned on his girlfriend.
"You alright, Dev?" Anne asked
"Ah! Liam, why don't you tell everybody what you're thinkin' 'bout?" Devin disciplined
"Ooh! Sorry about the thoughts, mate. Never meant to hurt you."
"It's cool, tell 'em. They might have some ideas too."
"Ideas? What are we talkin' about here?" Nate asked
"Everyone, I think we deserve some fun! I'm not sure what or WHERE, but I'm surely don't want to be cooped up at home on New Year's Eve."
"But Charles! And CJ--!"
"We'll do all we can, Nate. I'll make sure of it. I'll be at the Junior Gala, so you guys have fun. Whatever that may be." Peter said
"We'll be available no matter what, I guarantee it." Bailey said
"Thanks...all of you." Peter replied
Bailey looked at her auto-watch, took a deep breath, and ran back inside.
She feared for her nose and eyes, but she knew that she had plans with Will. Showering was the best choice, even though her lungs would be at stake. She exhaled loudly once she was in her room. It was simple, because it only held the essentials: a bed, dresser, a small rug, a small bookshelf, and drapes for her window.
Unlike her brother, she didn't hold on to manuscripts. Sketches and portfolios were her favorite things. Art was her secret talent, which she was always afraid to reveal. Bailey pushed her bangs from her face in exasperation. She flipped through the pages of her primer, it was entitled On the Inside. On in particular was a rough sketch of Will, it was drawn with charcoal.
She stared at the page.
"It stinks in this WHOLE place--hope you appreciate this 'little adventure'." She hid the hardcover under her bed, grabbed some clothes, and headed for the lavatory.
