I am a hopeless romantic

who romanticizes about romance,

is that problematic,

is it problematic that I,

a somewhat straight, male,

likes what the majority

of our pop culture deems as

“chick flicks”,

to be in love with the idea of love,

that includes the love shared between

the same genders,

because it’s all the same feeling,

that same fuzzy feeling of happiness

inside your chest,

it’s that surge of emotion you get

when you see your one true pairing

finally cross that finish line,

though,

then you

compare yourself to those fictional characters and people around you

and doubt you’ll

get a relationship

like you would see on the big screens of Hollywood,

but don’t focus on that,

cause that’s all fake,

the harsh reality of love painted gold,

so let me ask,

is it problematic that I,

is a hopeless romantic
