As the movie ended, Ledus sat up rubbing his eyes. He looked around the room, only seeing Kade. "Where are the others?"
"They went out to the stores."
"O-oh. So it's just us now?" Kade nodded with a smirk.
"Have anything you want to do?" Ledus looked at the clock and saw it was about 5 O'clock.
"Uh-umm, I'm a little hungry right now, I think I'll go get something to eat." He said as he moved away from Kade. However Kade stood up as well.
"Sounds like a good idea, I'll get some too." They both walked silently to the kitchen. Ledus filled up his plate with mostly stuffing and mashed potatoes. Kade chuckled as he looked over the boy's small plate. They took turns warming up their mini meals and placed the Tupperware back in the fridge. Ledus looked longingly at the lemon bars before he closed the door. "Hey kid, let's go eat in the living room. We'll put on another movie." He smirked and ushered Ledus back to the living room. They watched a few movies before Ledus began to get tired. He stood up and began to walk off but stopped and turned back to look at Kade.
"Kade...Thanks for spending time with me today."
"You know, on Thanksgiving, you should say what you're thankful for. Here, I'll start." He stood up and walked over to stand in front of Ledus, slightly tilting the boy's chin up. "I'm thankful I met Jarin." Ledus' lips twitched slightly as he tried to hide his dissapointment. "because, if I had never met him, then I'd never have the chance to meet this sweet innocent boy with a heart full of curiosity and love." Ledus' eyes widened. He could feel his face heat up but this time he couldn't bring himself to look away from Kade's deep mesmerizing eyes. They both stayed locked like that, neither daring to move, until they heard the front door opening. Kade quickly moved away from Ledus, rubbing the back of his neck as he cleared his throat. "Um, so what are you thankful for?"
"Umm, I'm th-thankful for...the people in my life." he whispered out. "G-good night Kade...Ha-happy Thanksgiving." Before Kade could reply Ledus had run from the room, dashing up the stairs.
As he lay in bed all he could think of were the words that Kade had said to him. "Do...do I really have a chance with him? Could he actually like me? I hope so...I-I'll tell him my feelings one day." With that in mind he snuggled deeper into his covers and fell asleep.
