I went to my room and pulled out the many suitcases that lay underneath my bed and inside my closets. Two large suitcases and two smaller ones were brought and left open on the floor. I folded a comforter, sleeping bag, mattress cover, blankets, pillows into one of the suitcases, along with a towel. I realized I didn’t know where I was packing for. I hurried to knock on my mother’s room’s door.
“Come in,” she called. I opened the door to my mother sitting on the edge of her bed, staring at her phone. She looked up at me. “What do you want?” she demanded.
“Where is the school? I need to know what to pack for?” I asked.
“It’s extremely cold or extremely hot. I’ll tell you exactly where tomorrow,” my mother answered.
“Okay,” I replied.
“Your uniform is in that bag,” she said, pointing to a corner.
“Thanks,” I mumbled, grabbing it and hurrying out of her room as quickly as possible. I opened the back and looked inside. “What the fuck?!”
The bag contained a stupid looking uniform. A blazer, dress shirt, dress pants and shorts, and leather dress shoes filled up the bag. I scowled. I have to wear this? I don’t even know how to tie a tie… I folded it carefully and stuffed it into one of the small suitcases, one that could be hooked onto my arm like a backpack, along with gloves and a scarf. As an afterthought, I tucked in sunscreen and bug spray, knowing it would be hell without these. In a smaller bag, I placed a cloth hamper, flashlight, and a big jacket for the cold weather. Along with this, I slipped in a deck of cards and an umbrella. I packed a big suitcase with clothing, shoes, bathroom things, school supplies, cleaning supplies, and my headphones. I scowled and brushed my hair out of my eyes. I need to cut my hair… I lay on my bed, feeling tired. I need to shower… I hurried up and did what I had to do in the bathroom, then went back to my room. I threw myself back onto the bed and conked out, likely snoring softly. The nightmares plagued me, but I fought through them,
