As noted in the previous chapter, Snow had a horrible sense of direction, so the original plan of meeting with Rose went awry. In the pavilion, stood one noticeable figure. Her redhead stood out, and on the way to the pavilion, caught the eyes of many townspeople, but unfortunately, did not catch the eyes of her dear sister, Snow White (who was with Jack, on the other side of town). So she waited and waited.
In your world, in your 21st century, one could pass time most likely by looking down at their cell phones. Everyone might have different preferences in what they might be engaging in. For example, I personally enjoy reading webcomics to pass the time. In this fairy tale world, Rose had a particularly interesting way to pass the time from one of her favorite activities to watch and do:
MUSICALS!! She was a theatre kind of gal.
Her thoughts went something like this:
Snow is late.
It might take her awhile to get here.
Hmm. Is anyone here?
Nobody is here right now.
...
Alright.
…
LET’S DO IT!
*drumroll*
MUSICAL!!!!
The “...” signified a brief moment of hesitation. That did not last long for Rose though. And she danced and sang and belted out the lyrics. How refreshing! In the moment, she must have felt invincible. She truly was living the protagonist life! To Rose, the spotlight totally shone on her.
It was during the middle of this epic dance and musical break that Finn came across Rose. Her red hooded cape blew into the wind, and the sun shone bright on her like a diamond. Both her hands were spread out, holding onto her cape as if they were like wings. It was a spectacle, and oh so entertaining. A free performance! He clapped his hands in delight, drawn to her passion and fire. In the town of Blank, someone with such fire as this was like a delicacy. Unintentionally so, he wanted to get to know her more.
The clapping brought Rose back down. “...” The spotlight did shine on her it seemed… Indeed, she was speechless. Mortified. You know what happens when you go onto a webpage and the page doesn’t load? It would say “404 Error.” That was Rose in the awkward silence following. He saw.
“Ah. Nice moves and tunes!” the guy spoke.
“...”
“Um, I like musicals too…” He continued speaking (blah, blah, blah..Finn talked a lot when nervous or excited).
Finn’s voice and encouragement took Rose away from her mortified state. In fact, hearing his compliments made her quite excited. !!! H-he likes musicals? Was this a kindred spirit? A fellow thespian?! Her imagination ran wild! He and I could do a number together!? See, in fairy tale world, as much as it is portrayed to be filled with lots of singing and dancing like in Disney films...there weren’t really much of that. That is a pity since I wholeheartedly believe that Rose would have quite enjoyed that indeed. She would very much be up for a dancing and singing partner. (Even her sister was reluctant to join her on this) And now was a grand opportunity-- a potentially willing partner! This friendly stranger she could welcome. Rose took his hand, “Come new friend! Let us sing together!”
When their hands touched, Finn felt an electric shock. It was then that Finn got struck by Cupid’s arrow. Well, actually, Cupid’s arrow struck him earlier (Finn was charmed by her enthusiasm during her little musical), but this one went straight to his heart. So cute. And she wanted to sing with him? And be friends? That sounded groovy.
Finn went along for the ride.

In the meanwhile, Jack and Snow were heading closer and closer to the pavilion. After the magical flower incident, there hadn’t been much talking. But now, Snow took the time to thank Jack. She really appreciated it. “Thank you for your help, Jack.”
They were getting closer. He could hear voices.
To Snow, Jack said: “Really, it’s…”
In the distance, he could make out two figures.
“...no…”
Getting closer. Are they dancing?
“..prob--”
“ROSE!!” Snow called, waving at Rose.
Jack’s hand reached out as Snow rushed off towards the two figures, as if that would stop her.
“...lem at all.”
Jack watched the three fools happily dancing and singing. Hm. What an interesting bunch… Whatever, wait for me guys. As soon as this was over, he’d go back to the restaurant.
