[Kis]
Noun
1. touch with the lips as a sign of love, sexual desire, reverence, or greeting
“You can be mad at someone and still kiss them.”
“As much as I love shitty football games and freezing my ass off, what are we going here?” Reid asked as they took a seat on the cold, metal bleachers. He only had a hoodie to keep him warm; Keir had stolen his coat as soon as they had stepped out of the car. Despite the fact it was barely fall, temperatures were nearing the fifties, leaving the two Floridians freezing.
“Gotta support my school, you know?” Keir mumbled distractedly; eyes focused on the deep grey clouds swirling over them. He could feel the power brewing within them, the tenseness of the liquid trying to break free. Thousands of buckets of water just sat up in the atmosphere, waiting to be released back to the Earth. On its own, it wouldn’t happen for hours, but Keir felt as if the clouds were speaking to him, pleading for him to give them a final push. It was tempting. He wanted to feel the strain of his magic, test his newfound powers. Despite the cold, he almost wanted to feel the icy rain pouring down on him. He wanted to feel the wind whipping through his hair and the electricity flowing through his veins. Bringing the storm early couldn’t be so bad right? It might postpone the football game but who cares about that?
“Yo, are you okay?” Keir was brought back to reality as a cold hand landed on his own. He felt a foreign jolt of magic run through him and yanked his hand away as Reid’s brown eyes swirled with an amber color. Reid was a seer, but rather than seeing the past or future, he could see what is. Clairvoyancy was a rare ability among witches, which is why his friend had basically been forced to drop out of college and work for the Coterie.
“I hate it when you do that.” He hissed as his eyes turning back to their normal deep brown color. Reid frowned at him apologetically, tightly clasping his hands in his lap. “Sorry, you know I can’t help it. Why didn’t you tell me you’d discovered another power?”
“It’s really not that big of a deal.”
“You sure? Because I remember just a few years ago you would pray to the Gods every night to make you-” He was cut off my Keir punching him on the arm hard. “Shut up! We’re not talking about that!”

The game continued late into the evening, and Keir wished that the football stadium’s lights weren’t so bright so that he could see if any stars were peeking out behind the clouds. It was probably around ten when it finally wrapped up and by that time it was downright freezing, with Keir shivering despite his two jackets. He’d completely forgotten why he’d come here in the first place; Nyx was the last thing on his mind as he had caught up with his childhood friend.
He didn’t even notice the two pairs of icy blue eyes glaring at him periodically.
Soon, everyone was on their feet and cheering for the winning team, people lifting Nyx onto their shoulders even though it had gone unnoticed by the Naturalist. Reid and Keir took it as their cue to leave, heading out of the football stadium. The older stopped to use the bathroom at the exit, and Keir decided to wait for him outside.
It was when he was standing there by himself, shivering and wishing for Reid to hurry the fuck up, that something, or rather someone, appeared in front of him. He didn’t even have time to react before he was being pushed up against the cold brick of the building, warm lips harshly pressed against his. He gasped, the scent of mint and Old Spice making him groan because Nyx was kissing him. Holy shit, Nyx was kissing him. Nyx was kissing him.
The phrase became his mantra as he stood frozen, letting the Necromancer ravage his mouth. The only response he managed was to close his eyes and tangle his fingers in his blond hair that was slightly damp from sweat. Not that he cared at the moment, because he could barely think as Nyx explored his mouth possessively.
Nyx pulled away too soon, ignoring the spit string between them as he stared into Keir’s shocked gaze. “See you on Monday, Sunshine.” He hummed, voice deep and sultry before disappearing into a puff of smoke.
Reid was extremely confused when he exited the bathroom, because Keir’s pink lips were swollen, his normally innocent expression smug.
He had just won, after all.
