Restrained by the cold chains wrapped around my wrist, I hanged my head low hiding it from any nearby guards.
I peaked through my short dark purple hair to see the grand halls of the Merana's castle.
I never intended to find myself in such a place, especially for the reason I was called for by the Queen of the Arina Empire, Raina.
Merciful as she is, something tells me she intends to imprison me or worst, kill me.
I squirmed trying to lessen then pain around my wrist. I felt a giant shock throughout my body and groaned.
"You prick." I snapped. The two guards scoffed and one of them tased me again in the same spot.
What a bunch of douchebags, I thought as my right side of me throbs in pain. Little did I know we were standing right in front of a giant wooden door decorated with golden assets.
One guard removed himself from behind me to open the door. As soon as the door opened I was pushed to the floor.
"Nice going dumbassess." I hissed. Queen Raila sat before me with her long brown hair and her green beady-eyes. She wore what seemed to be armor for grand knights but decorated with gold accents and with a blue cloth running down in front of her legs.
Beside her was a man, no one I have seen or heard of before in the royal family, stood beside her holding a fancy pillow holding a knife.
His black hair swooped over to the left side of his face covering his left eye. He looked way less hostile than Raila and more saddened.
"Silence. My kindness towards you is no more, murderer." Raila barked. I looked at the angered queen and smiled.
"Hey, princess. Long time hasn't it? This is quite a way of greeting me after how many years? You really are a person of bus-"
"I see no princess here Ala. If you think you can come here to amuse me you are very mistaken," Raila snapped. Her green eyes glared at me halting my every movement.
"I don't want to waste anymore time than I need to for this pathetic trial. Admit it, you killed him."
"Him?" I questioned. I got up from the ground and walked closer towards the angered queen. The man beside her turned his head quickly to Raila concerned face expression. Raila herself stood up.
"Raila, this entire week I have been out of the city running duties for the king there was no way I could have-"
"Who gave permission to address me in such a way. I am Queen Raila to you," Raila walked towards me and grabbed me by my neck.
"Stop playing dumb and say it. Say, I killed King Damon. Say, I killed the one and only thing holding this kingdom from falling to pieces." I tried struggle out of her grasp with little air I had left but she only gripped harder.
"Raila, this will only cause more problems. You must stop." The man yelled. She dropped me from her grip and I quickly try to catch my breath. Raila backed up and scoffed.
"If my husband weren't here you would be dead." I got back up and stepped back.
"I never killed the king. I never got anywhere close to him," I uttered. I adjusted the chains on my wrist making it more comfortable for me.
"You are going to get the same answer because it is true. I would never have any intentions in killing him."
Raila turned around and sighed, "Take her to the dungeon and get her ready for the execution tomorrow. I have no use for her." Three guards grip tightly to my light purple skin. I squirmed and screamed
"Let me go! I did nothing wrong Raila! You know it!" I was tased multiple times in different places. I soon gave up and was carried out the throne room.
The doors made a big thump echoing throughout the long hallway.
I moved my hand slightly and was tased. I managed to grab the taser when the guard and tased him back. He fell to the ground groaning in pain and the others took out their tasers.
"Wow she really is still a softy. Took your swords away and switched them with kiddie toys. How cute." I scoffed as I tried to back up but bumped in
"You have no room to talk, king killer." replied the guard in front of me. I smirked and kicked hin in his groin. He fell to the ground and started to scream really loudly.
The other guard tried strike at me but missed terribly. I elbowed him in the jaw and jumped out the window. I surprisingly landed on store top minimizing the pain of my fall.
I looked back to see Raila arguing with other guard to later point at me screaming "Get her!"
I quickly hopped off the store top and darted through the streets pushing towns people out the way. They quickly noticed who I was. Some yelled for the authorities while others shudder in fear.
I stopped running to see a group of guards running towards me. I quickly ran into the ally way hoping to find a exit out of the city but only dead end awaited me.
"Just fess up already," a familiar voice spoke. I turned to see Raila walking towards me with the king's sword, Belon. She dragged it across the eroded stone. "If you give in I will maybe, just maybe let you go." Raila rushed up and,
Clank!
A man wearing a long, dirt brown, cape swooped in and blocked her attack. The axe, preventing the sword from slicing through him, was engraved with various rune symbols.
"Who are you?" Raila struggled to cut through the wooden handle of the man's long axe.
The man kept silent. He pushed back Raila into the guards causing them all to fall. Through the newly created pathway, the man grabbed my hand and dragged me through the crowded city.
"Where are you taking me." I snapped. He ignored me and kept running griping my wrist tightly.
I yanked my hand from his masculine hands and stood in the bustling crowd.
"Tell me now or I am staying here." I rubbed my wrist as it was slightly throbbing in pain. The man turned around, his face hidden from his hood and sighed.
"Do you want to live or not?" he . I looked at him confused. I never seen him around Merana before. How would an outsider know about something as crucial as a kings murder?
Maybe he could help me, I thought. I reached out my hand to the man. He quickly grabbed it and we ran.
