“Is it because of my brother?” Cyprus asks as he sits beside Zaltrius. Zaltrius closes his eyes and exhales before nodding. “Nick is nice. Besides he can’t do anything to you that your magic won’t counter.” Cyprus says. “I’ll meet him…” Zaltrius mutters. “What?” Cyprus asks unable to hear him. “I’ll meet your brother,” Zaltrius says louder his eyes never changing color. “Alright come on,” Cyprus says as he stands and offers his hand to Zaltrius. Zaltrius says nothing as he takes Cyprus’ hand and uses it to pull himself up. “You look like you’re going to be sick,” Cyprus says as he presses his hand to Zaltrius’ forehead. “I’m fine,” Zaltrius quietly says as he pushes Cyprus’ hand away. “If you say so,” Cyprus says as he opens the door for Zaltrius. As the demon was walking shadows enveloped him once more. As soon as the shadows left his body Zaltrius was wearing a black hoodie, a pair of tight jeans, and a leather necklace with a gold ring on the end. “This is my brother Nick. Nick meet Zal.” Cyprus says as he introduces the two. “I thought demons looked like monsters. Why does he look like a human?” Nick asks. “I can hide my true form so I can live among humans whenever I need to. Also, you may not call me Zal so just call me Zaltrius.” Zaltrius says coldly. “So demons are living with people?” Nick asks looking scared. “If they want to, but it’s uncommon for them to want to stay for longer than a vacation,” Zaltrius explains. “A vacation?” Cyprus asks looking confused. “When demons want to take a break from the Demon Realm they visit the overworld and stay for a while,” Zaltrius replies in a nicer tone than when he was speaking to Nick. “Isn’t called Hell?” Cyprus asks. “No, it’s called the Demon Realm. I assure you.” Zaltrius says as he sits on the couch. “Can you try to calm down?” Cyprus says as he sits beside Zaltrius. “I’ll try,” Zaltrius says before he closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. “How do you know he’s panicking?” Nick asks. “His eyes change colors,” Cyprus explains as he glances over to Zaltrius to see his eyes are a nice sky blue. “That’s interesting...”
Later…
“Was he that bad?” Cyprus asks. “No. I guess you were right.” Zaltrius admits as he stretches out on the couch. “He was just super curious about you that’s all,” Cyprus says as he cleans. “Why are you cleaning so much?” Zaltrius asks. “I like having something to do,” Cyprus replies. “Why don’t you take up a different hobby then?” Zaltrius asks enjoying the conversation. “I can’t ever find the time to look for a hobby I like,” Cyprus says as he finally finishes cleaning. “Can you move your feet?” Cyprus asks as he walks to the couch. “Yeah,” Zaltrius replies as he lifts his feet. “Thanks,” Cyprus says as he sits down. “Are you feeling alright?” Zaltrius asks as he sees Cyprus’ face was a few shades paler. “Yeah…” Cyprus says. Zaltrius sits up and turns Cyprus’ head so he could look the exorcist in the eye. “You can tell me. I know we haven’t known each other for long but, the way you’re acting is worrying me.” Zaltrius says his eyes turning gold. “I-I…” Cyprus says a slight blush on his cheeks. “Please tell me,” Zaltrius says with nothing but kindness and worry in his voice. “I’m worried about you,” Cyprus says as he takes Zaltrius’ hands into his own. “Wh-what?” Zaltrius asks as his cheeks turn red and his eyes turn rainbow. “Zal…” Cyprus says his blush growing as he cups Zaltrius’ face. Zaltrius gasps as he struggles to breathe. “Can I kiss you?” Cyprus asks his eyes resting on Zaltrius’ lips. “N-no!” Zaltrius says as he comes to his senses and pushes Cyprus away. Cyprus blinks a few times before his eyes widen as he realizes his mistake. “Zal, I’m sorry I-I don’t know what came over me,” Cyprus says though he knew words wouldn’t fix what he did. “I’m going to sleep,” Zaltrius says his eyes turning black. “I’m sorry…” Cyprus whispers once more after Zaltrius had gone to his room. “What was I thinking!?” Cyprus asks. He wanted to punch himself for being so stupid. “Now he probably won’t trust me,” Cyprus says as he leans his head back. “I should just go to sleep. I’ll talk with him in the morning…”
